Are there places here around that have samples besides ordering offline?? I am also purchasing my supplements as well...I think I am gonna try liquid vitamins this time and grab some b12..am I missing something?? I know I am.... gosh I wish I would have been posting more and hangin out with u guys..this is a lively bunch!!

Don't stock up on protein as most likely what you could do before surgery won't work after. Before surgery I drank the EAS AdvantEdge shakes and now I can't choke them down. I don't supplement with much protein but the little I have has been with unflavored Unjury powder. I am not sure about samples.I tried all the flavors of the chewable calcium and all were okay for the first couple of tablets and then I had to force myself to finish the bottles I bought (some were just samples from dietitian). I bought powder at Atkins and it was AWFUL. I just received Upcal D powdered calcium that several people have recommended and it is the best so far so I will stick with that.
Hi, LaDetra.
As far as protein shake samples, try a GNC store. They usually carry a good supply of samples. Even if you find one you like, I wouldn't buy a whole bunch, because so many say their tastes change after surgery. Tell the clerk what you're doing, and he/she should be able to give you some good ideas.
You're getting a good multivitamin (liquid or chewable), iron perhaps, B12, and calcium citrate (liquid or chewable), right? I'm ordering from celebratevitamins.com. It can be a challenge to find a chewable that I like. I have texture issues. :)
It's getting exciting, isn't it!
Blessings,
Mary

Thanks for the info!! I plan on running to GNC this afternoon or maybe tomorrow. I also heard about the place where Dan was talking bout on 61 and sheridan here in Tulsa, might check them out at the same time tomorrow and see who has a better deal. Whew, so many things to do and such little time. I havent seen my nutritionist yet, I see her Thurs...so I am not certain on what other vit/supplements I need to get. I have vitamins already and iron, but not calcium or b12. I just want to have everything ready before coming home next weekend

Discount Sport Nutrition at 61st just east of Memorial in Eton Square has samples for like $2 I think they are. Also they sell CytoSport which is like a Gatorade style protein drink that I think is just awesome. As said above, dont stock up on too much before surgery. Your taste buds will change some and we dont want you having a boatload of cr*p you dont want to drink.
Welcome to the funny farm! Glad to see a new face. I really hope you will join us at some of the Eat Meet and Greets! We always have a blast. This month its at chili's in Owasso on the 16th (thursday) at 6:30 pm. usually some of us get there a little early, look for us at the bar or ask for the OH group. really looking forward to meeting you soon. Good luck and God bless.
if you have any questions feel free to ask them... the folks on here are great at answering questions and giving advice, wanted or not...lol.
PM me with your mailing address and I'll mail you some Chike in orange flavor. I have stayed far, far away from protein shakes since I got out of the liquid stage but I picked up some samples free when I was at the Walk From Obesity a couple of weeks ago. I have heard that Chike is good. Anyway, these are individually packaged samples from the company and I have 4 or 5 so I'll send you a couple. I think it's important to find one you like and, sadly, I never really did! So I'm waving my magic wand that you will.
You will be weak and tired after surgery at some point and the protein brings you back to life! So it's all good!

LaDetra: First of all, welcome to the Oklahoma forum. There are such awesome people here. I am excited for your surgery date. You'll do great. The only thing I will throw in my 2 cents about is the liquid vitamins. BLAH! to the 10 degree. I thought they tasted like metal. So gross. I did get some Centrum Adult chewables (orange flavor) and SO much better. I threw the liquid junk out. I also had the EAS Advantage choclate prior to surgery. I have drunk a couple since, and still tasted ok to me personally. Good luck, Michael.
