Lack of Energy on Quick Start Diet???

I have been on the Quick Start Diet for 6 days, and I feel wiped out.  I wonder if it's because of my lack of calories (intake).  I took the kids to the zoo this afternoon and feel wiped out.  Even being over weight, I have energy to run, chase, play, after them and it was harder than usual today.   I wasn't my chipper self today with them.

Any thoughts?  I am getting all of my protein in that is suggested and yesterday even a little bit more since I didn't feel satisfied.

Thanks in advance,
Sheila

Hi, Sheila.
I remember going through that lag time, although I don't remember exactly when it happened. Make sure you're getting in enough water, even with all the shakes. You're body's adjusting to your diet, maybe going through a bit of detox.  Hang in there. It will be worth it.
Blessings,
Mary

Sheila, when I started a low carb diet my body went through a detoxing time and I was run down and sluggish. After about 2 weeks I felt a lot better. I bet this is what you are going through. It will pass. Great job getting your protein in.

My question would be are you still taking water pills? If you are, and no potassium then you could be depleted....Just a thought....If you aren't taking them...Well...I have no idea!! Call the Nut and ask her about it. That would be a good place to start...
Take care!

I was wiped out too on the aggressive diet.  I thought I must have been getting sick-he he!  It turns out I was detoxing off the carbs.  How addicted must I have been to feel so horrible for so long?  Stick with it.  It will make the post-op lifestyle much easier in the long run.

Thanks HappyCat.. Today, I changed things up a bit.. For breakfast I had eggs, tomotoes, and fruit..  Diet said we could do that.. It made me last longer until about 3:30PM today, but than I felt wiped out.. I just finished dinner with fish, veggies, and orange.   I seem to have perked up after dinner..

I feel weak and my stomach muscles are hurting, DH seems to think my stomach is shrinking.   There is no turning back know, I have invested a week of this and the last 2 days have been very long.  Thanks for the encouragement because I really need it right now..

Thanks everyone for chiming in..

i noticed that you ate breakfast and  dinner you mentioned 3.30 was when you got hungry, did you eat anything between breakfast and dinner.  lunch or a snack. if not that may be the reason you ran out of steam.   your blood sugar might have gotten to low and you just needed a pick me up  a protein snack or fruit or something to get u thru.   just a thought i have not got that far on my venture yet but just being analytical. have a very blessed succesful journey.

One more thing..

Should I increase my vitamins or start a B12 vitamin right now?  I take a women's one a day right now, but since I am decreasing my food intake should I increase a vitamin?

Thanks in advance,
Sheila

I started vitamins on the pre-op diet - took 2 calcium and two multi-vitamins per day- it helps to get used to them because you will need to take them after surgery. I started the B-12 one week post-op.
