Dan... did you find out what was causing your pain?
Dan, hope you are feeling better. It sounds like possibly you have some excess scarring or adhesions since it's so close to your incision. I am really surprised that they had you come in for a CT and haven't told you anything yet, stinks to have things done at the weekend!! Hang in there and let us know how you are.

Hey Kim! I'm doing great, tonight it's just a bit of discomfort when I move just right, but for the most part no more pain. Everything went great, just an overnight stay and I went home the next morning. I weighed tonight and I have lost 5 pounds already! (I know, probably fluid, but it looks good on the scale!!). How are things with you? Where are you in your process? Let me know.

CJ,
Hi! I'm glad you are doing so well. 5lbs? Thats great! You go girl! Its all downhill from here!
I went for my first psyc eval and sleep study Friday. I was so nervous about my sleep study I didn't sleep at all Thurs. So when I went in for my sleep study I was READY for bed. I'm probably not supposed to enjoy it, but I really liked my sleep study. The atmosphere was great. The nurse that did my intake was so comforting! I could sleep there every night! LOL! No results yet.
I have one more PCP apt with my 6 mo supervised weight loss. Nov 3! I'm going to get my paperwork into Dr. Gorospe's office that day. They should have it ready to submit to insurance then my journey can start! I don't know what to expect after that!
When I was going to Dr. Gornichec, Kim had all of my testing scheduled for 1 day and then we were going to submit to insurance. Dr. Gorospe's office does things differently! So I will see how everything goes.
Keep me posted on how you are doing! I'm glad you are doing so well!
Hugs
Kim

Even after a year, my port scar will still hurt-I think everything settles into place then I lose weight and need more scar tissue or something. When that happens, I try to do very gentle stretches so that the scar tissue doesn't heal in a tight position. I'm not a doctor, but I've had three abdominal surgeries (hysterectomy, gall bladder and lap bad) and I don't have any problems with adhesions and stiffness. Gentle means you feel the stretch, but aren't in terrible pain.
Wow Debra, we are surgery twins, I've had all those too. This one was the easiest by far as it was the first laparoscopic surgery for me. Sure beats those open procedures!!! That is a good tip about the stretching, I haven't had any adhesion or scar tissue issues either but with the port it may be a different story.

Some people get all freaked out about the port-it IS an implant and takes several months to a year to settle in-just like pins in your leg or something like that. One of the things I tell people is to sit down and think about what you are feeling-do you just notice the port, or is it pain? Being able to feel something and really truly pain are two different things, and some people have to learn the difference.
It was no big deal for me-I've worn braces on my teeth, been injured, etc. so I already knew the drill.
