WHAT TO PACK???
Congratulations on only 2 more weeks to surgery!
This is my list (I'm probably taking too much, but we live 2 hrs. away, and I won't be able to call home to say, "Would you bring my....?"
Bible (won't leave w/o it)
pillow (because it's familiar, and I'll need it for the ride home, to sleep/cushion in case of bumpy roads)
brush, hair clips (to put my hair up, if I want to)
ipod with relaxing music + relaxation exercises + Psalms for Surgery, w/ ear phones
glasses (can't read w/o them)
Crest Brush-ups (for when I just need to rub my teeth, to feel fresh)
T-brush & t'paste
Face wash, deodorant, basic make-up (I'll feel yucky, otherwise)
Alcohol swabs, in case I feel nauseous
Pampers wipes, to freshen up
chap stick
robe, gown, slippers (in case I decide to feel prettier than the hospital gown will make me feel)
comfy outfit to go home in (plan to wear it there, as well)--leavin' bra at home!
phone card (I don't have a cell phone)
pen & paper (I'm a List Queen)
wallet, in case I want/need to shop at the Wt. Wise Store upstairs
CPAP machine (no machine, no surgery)
Most important of all, a positive attitude and a smile
Hope this helps.
Blessings,
Mary

I can't believe I am going to say this, especially when I kid my wife about taking a semi load of stuff when we come to OKC for the weekend, BUT I felt I took to much. Of course take the basic toiletries, my own pillow, ipod, cell phone, mainly so my family could call people about the surgery when I was in recovery. The hospital gives you the ankle socks with the non skid stuff on the bottom of them. I used those the whole time even walking. Didn't want to mess with trying to put on shoes. The rooms have free full length movies you can watch, if you want. A good lip balm is good, but I personally didn't use it. Good luck on your surgery. It will be here beforeyou know it.
I think Mary about covered everything on the list. I personally couldn't read or watch many movies because I guess from the anethesia I was sleepy most of the time I wasn't walking or visiting with my husband or kids. I'm one of those however that when I lay down my eyes pretty much go closed. I know you're getting so excited and rightfully so....your day is just about here!!!
I took pjs but never put them on...the hospital gown was just easier. I took my cell phone and I brought a couple of bathroom items, toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash...
I was just fine...If I wasn't visiting with friends then I was watching movies, walking, or sleeping. It went by really fast.
Good luck on your surgery!!!
