Am I detoxing from Carbs??? (TMI)

I am on day 5 of the "Quick Start Plan", yesterday I spent all day in the bathroom with just a runny stool.. Today, I have started out the same..  Late last night I started feeling queezy in my tummy and really didn't even want to drink my last shake of the night, but I did.  This morning I felt nausea still, so DH took the kids to school for me.  I am currently sipping on a can of beef broth, is that allowed? Am I going through detox of carbs?  Just feeling blah today, upset tummy, and way to much time in the bathroom..

Now another question,  do the shakes, soup, protein bars make you retain water?  My right ankle is completely swollen and my right calf is very tight.  I took 2 water pills last night, hoping to ease it up.  Now I am drinking around 220 oz of water every day.. I am probably over doing it at this point.

I am on day 5 and I have lost 12 pds.  To much, Too soon..

Thanks for any input,
Sheila

Sheila - I don't recall the pre-op aggressive plan doing that to me - on the bathroom issues it was actually the opposite for me. On the water...220 oz seems like a lot, but I am not sure on that. My suggestion is that you call your nutritionist at WW and tell her what is going on and maybe she can tell you whether any of this has anything to do with the diet. Seems unlikely though....and make sure you ask about the 220 oz of water!!!

WOW on the 12 lbs.....!!!

(50 lbs lost pre-op)

I didn't quite do all that when I was on the "Quick Start Plan" either.  I agree with Anna that you should call the Nut and give her the information on what's going on.  She'll have a good suggesion or advice for you.  Sounds like you're doing awesome though.  You might even have a bug right now.  A lot of stuff is going on these days with that kind of things.

Sheila, I know you want this surgery and want it NOW....but becareful along this preop path. One thing is taking the water pills without potassium can leave you drained and a bit queezy. I honestly think the 220 oz of water, is way to much for your kidney's to process. People can get to much water too. Detoxing from Carbs usually calls for fiber pills to keep the bowels somewhat normal. Maybe you have a virus of some sort. Honestly, I'd call the Nut and ask her. Broth should be allowed but it can have alot of sodium so becareful since you are already swollen.
Take it easy....You just don't want to do to much to quick for your body to catch up somewhat...
You are doing great....just becareful and call the Nut!

I agree with Sher on the water.  220oz is a LOT of water.  I'd back off about 1/2 of that if it were me but ask the Nut that question too.  We want you healthy and able to do your procedure SOON!!!

Yep, call the nut-it is actually possible to ge****er poisoning-too much will mess with your blood chemistry.

If anything, a carb detox tends to make you lose water-so I really would call the NUT.

I also agree that 220 oz of water is way too much.  I have also heard you CAN get too much water.  I think too much of anything is a bad thing!
I would cut the water at least in 1/2!  Take the ladies advice and call the NUT!!
Take it easy GF!  you are doing this to get healthy not be a sicky girl!
Call me if you need anything!
I'm happy for your weight loss you are doing great there!  You'll get there quickly!!

Shelia, this sounds like the bug I have had. except you didn't mention a fever. This  hit pretty hard .as far as the swollen ankles & leg. The broth usually has a lot of sodium that could be contributing to that problem if your consuming much of it.

You can buy salt free broth as well.  You have to look for it though.
