For all the new ones who might want to attend the dinner....Could someone post all the information for the next Meet and Greet on Oct. 10th.  Sometimes it get's lost in our quick moving board.    Thanks!

Also I want to make sure everyone, especially then new board members,  know that it is ok if you haven't had your surgery yet and spouses are invited also.

Maybe we can do a pot luck some time and try some of our wonderful recipes. That would be great too!

It's this Friday at Charleston's on I 240 and Penn.  Starts at 6, they are expecting us-we'll be in the back and they are prepared for separate checks and special orders.  Pre-ops, post ops, spouses, friends, and interesting strangers are all invited.

The most formal thing we do is name tags (does anyone have any they can bring?) and that is to help those of us who can't match faces with handles/avatars.  For instance, I really don't look anything like a hungry lion.

For a lot of people-eating out after surgery is a skill we have to relearn due to our slower pace and smaller amounts (small enough that people NOTICE sometimes....aaaagh).  This is a great way to practice those skills with other people who know exactly what it's like and we have more fun than anyone else you'll ever want to meet....so it's like, well serious FUN.

Social activities are so important for everyone, and in these times of political upheaval, etc. sitting with friends and enjoying a meal is probably more important than ever.  WLS is such a roller coaster of emotions and I believe there is something that peer support (aka, friends) can give you that no surgeon can.

OK, you got me started....LOL.  Really, it's important and FUN as well as IMPORTANT and fun.

I've heard the spouses/friends and interesting strangers have a good time too.  We do talk about WLS when it comes up, but it's not the full focus of the dinner so no one is going to be bored.  (If anyone gets bored they can sit next to me and I'll tell them what the parrot did that day).

Penn exits from 2:40 and Charleston's is north of the Highway on the East side of Penn.  There is a Carls Jr and a Denny's on the Corner-and a few other restaurants down the north side of 240 in a row-one of those is Charleston's.  Behind all the eating places is a shopping Center with Circuit City, PetSmart, Ross, Lane Bryant, Pier One-Get to the corner of 2:40 and Penn and you won't be able to miss it.
