Your post makes such a strong statement. I never realized how my weight affected my family until I decided to have wls. My 8 year old son asks me often if after I have surgery if I will be able to do more things with him. My mom told me how happy she was that I could have this surgery to hopefully make me feel better about myself and have a better life. Our weight certainly does affect those around us.

Great post.  My family wants to be supportive, but just really doesn't know the difference between support and barking orders....LOL.  But it does help to be reminded it comes from a place of concern-they want me to succeed, that just don't know how to help.
