Fill today

Got a fill today and it's one of those "pay attention" kind....my stomach is gurgling now....LOL.  Gurgle is stomach speak for "eat something too big, too fast and you will pay".....which is good, I can deal with it.

Liquids till tomorrow, then slowly on to mushies-I'll be on solids AND good behavior by Friday night.

Erica was "bleeding the air out of my tubing" and the tech asked me what it felt like.  You know, me, I'm honest as well as descriptive-I told her it felt like a reverse fart.   Guess I'll suck down some more water to wash out the liquids I've already drank today and then go to bed.

My take on fills in general is that (like everything else) attitude makes a world a difference.  I would rate it as mildly unpleasant-like a shot more or less. I am tender after a fill, but I am tender after shots too.  As for the liquids-going on liquids for 24 hours is not that big of a deal for me any longer....makes me appreciate solid food again.  The swelling and tightness of the stoma (for me) is more like an awareness of the band for a little bit, I know it's there, but that's about it....it's not swelling like a sprained ankle or something like that.

Debra, I really like your sense of humor.  Reverse fart!  That was great.  I glad your fill went good.  I didn't realize that when you have a fill, you are on liquids for a day, then mushies.  Just learned something. Take care, Michael

I'm glad you're doing better after y our fill "reverse fart"LOL.  You crack me up.  I'm glad you'll be back on some solids by Friday...I kind of doubt the "good behavior"!!!  That would be no fun at all.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

The sweet spot-ah, the elusive place where we are happy with the amount we eat and happy with our weight.  May we all get there.

Thanks for posting on your fill. I will be getting the realize band in 13 short days! It's nice to have other bandsters on this board.

This is a great board because we all support everyone and can discuss each surgery's pros and cons without getting all stupid about it.  We also share the good bad and ugly, none of that "don't scare the newbies" crapola.....we are here to support ourselves and each other, not recruit people into one surgical group or another (which is where a lot of the fuss you see on the bigger boards is really about).

Last year I lost weight during the holidays (I was banded July 07).  LOST weight during Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  How amazing is that?
