Ok, as I type, I am cooking my very first crockpot meal, started it this morning, by myself!!! This is a big accomplishment for me!!! I left the crockpot on, on low, unattended, since there is no one at home. For those who are savvy in the kitchen.....Is it safe to leave the thing on all day (well till about 4:30?) - I am not going to find the house burned down am I? Just sitting here at work and thinking about it....

No, it will still be there.  And when you walk in from work it will smell heavenly!  I even go ahead and put it all together the night before so I'm not rushed in the morning.  Boy, do I wish I had stock when they invented those !

Hi, Anna.
That's what crockpots are for--to leave on all day, cooking away as you slave away elsewhere. It should be fine. The only trouble might be if the wiring is old and frayed or something. It could heat up then and start a fire.
Congratulations on your first crockpot meal. I'm sure it will be the first of many. Won't it be fun to walk into your home, smelling a ready dinner!
Blessings,
Mary

Mary;

I actually checked the cord and the plug this morning to make sure it was fine, and it is... yeah, looking forward to having this ready when I walk in the door...

Hey there Anna Bannana...that's whey they are referred to as "SLOWWWWW COOKERSSSSS"  You crack me up!!!  LOL  I love using them.  I cook my chilli, stews, beans and all kinds of things in them.  You can even by recipe books just for that crockpot cooking itself...

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Ok amateur.....  I'll be kind to you.  You'll love the chilli in the crockpot too!!!  Put cheese and sourcream on top of it too if you like.  Before WLS I would put fritoes in it as well.  My DH still does or crackers.  It's a good cold weather idea!  Are you wearing your dancin boots Friday night??  I'm not sure if we are or not.  I don't have any boots for sure!!

YUM...crackers, Fritos, or Doritos on it sound good.....in my dreams, but they sound good. Don't think I'll be doing the dancing thing Friday night...I'll have to think about that. Maybe if I can drag my husband along I will....

Don't forget the sour cream and cheese on the top !  Yummy !  And you can add avacado if you want.  I fixed the crock pot curried  chicken recipe that I handed out at the meet and greet dinner this weekend.  Spicy but good !
