colonscopy question after rny

Ok, I have to have my first one in a couple of weeks, not looking forward to it, I told the nurse that called that I was a rny patient, does anyone know if the stuff you have to drink has sugar in it?

Also, if you haven't had your colonoscopy, don't wait until your 50 like most doctors state, my sister was diagnosed in March with stage 3 colon cancer, she's not doing well right now either.  My mother had several polyps removed but my sister never had a colonoscopy until it was too late. If your mother has had polyps removed get one early.  My sister is just 48.

Hope everyone has a great week, I just ate too much, hope it passes quickly.  Geez, think I am going to go for a walk while the weather is great.

Hi, Brenda.
According to this link, no. http://www.udhi.org/documents/colon_prep.pdf
I'm praying that your test will show no polyps and that your sister will be healed of cancer.
Blessings,
Mary

Thank you Mary for your search, I haven't received my instructions in the mail yet, so I really appreciate this.  And thank you for the prayers for my sister.

I love your quote, I try sending her encouragement everyday, I am going to have to use this one for her.

Have a wonderful week.

You're quite welcome, Brenda. It is a great quote and so different from what we tend to do, in handling problems/trials/issues.
Would you give me your sister's first name? I'd like to pray for her by name. I know God knows, but it helps me to make a connection. I don't know why, and I'm certainly not worthy, but God has blessed me with a prayer ministry, and, for some reason, I am able to intercede especially for cancer patients and those who need organ transplants. God has blessed with awesome healings, even in the 11th hour (last minute).
Oh, I just remembered. I put together a devotional on what God's Word says about healing. It's on my old computer, so I need to save it on a disk and transfer it to this computer I'm on, but if you'd think your sister would like to read them, I'd be happy to PM them to you, one at a time, and then you could copy and paste each one in an email to her. If you don't think she's ready for this, it's okay. You won't hurt my feelings. If you'd like to do this, however, maybe you could send me a Friend request PM, and be sure to remind me.
Blessings,
Mary

Thank you Mary - yes I would love for you to be able to pray specific... My sister's name is Geraldine, she didn't have any polyps however, there was something the doctor had to biopsy, we are praying for good results.

I would love for you to send me the devotional, however I don't know how to pm?  I will send you a friend request.  Let me know if I need to do anything further.

Have a wonderful day.

Hi, Brenda.
Thank you for sharing your sister's name with me. I will continue to pray for Geraldine. Please keep me posted.
If you can send a friend request, then you will see my name and avatar on your Friends list. You should be able to click on it and send me a message.
I'm going to try to get on my old computer tomorrow or the next day and get the healing devotional file off of it. If you'd rather I email them directly to you, so you don't have to copy and paste, send me your email address. I will not use it for any other purpose. Do send it in a personal message (PM), rather than posting here, for all to see. If you'd rather not share it, that's okay, too. I'm good with whatever works for you. Also, when you send a PM, it shows up in my email account (even though you don't know my email address), so I'm sure it's the same for you. I forgot about that, so I would think you could just forward that to your sister. We'll just have to experiment. I'm not as computer savy as I'd like to be.
Blessings,
Mary

Brenda, Thank you for posting this....The importance of this is huge!! I am sending this to my sister's and my mother. I have regular check up's done and have had my colonoscopy but I have never checked with them to see if they have....It's like my brother who ended up with Prostate Cancer that they just found in a routein exam and he is in his early fifties. He is the youngest and NO history of it in the family.

thank you for the reminders.....I agree! Don't ignore having tests done just because there is no history of it in the family!! Don't ignore symptoms either!

I am so sorry for your sister's condition, and so sorry for what you are going through as a sister to her. I am so glad you are also being tested now. I will pray the results are positive for you.

Thank you Sher,

I know my sister would want everyone to get checked and not to have anyone go through with what she has had to endure.  They took a biopsy of something today, guess we will find out later this week.
How is your brother's condition?  Is he taking chemo?

Blessings to him and your family.
