Wow, Rita! Look how much you've changed! I just listened to you and watched you and cried with you. My grandchildren have a lot to do with my decision to have WLS, too. (Cute grandbabies, by the way.)
Thank you for posting the link, so I could enjoy your journey.
Blessings,
Mary

P.S. I thought I was an early riser! :)

Rita,
This will be a wonderful way to reach so many! I loved it and like Mary, cried with happiness for you. As a pre-op, it gave me encouragement that my choice was the right one. Even at my age of 57, it is not to late to make this change! Thanks for sharing this with us.

Rita,
I see you are going to have the surgery also even at your age.  I'm 60 and am considering having it also.  I'm was a bit concerned about my age but have been encouraged by my family to do it also.  I have some joint problems also that are requiring me to lose weight and I've had no success on my own over the past 4 years.  My daughter recently had it and is doing great.  She returns for her 1 month checkup this week.  She is an inspiring  saint to me.

When are you having the surgery?  I'll keep up on your progress.
Congratulations and good luck on your journey to being a new person!    judy

Rita,

Sorry I meant that previous not to go to Sher of Bethany in reply to her last comment.

I see you too have also had the surgery and you look great!  I'm hoping I can have that much success also.  judy

Judy, I am having my surgery towards the end of January. If I were you, I would go to a Seminar...just to check it out to see the options you have. You will find it so encouraging.
To me the age is not even an issue. My mom is 80, my grandma and her mother all lived to be 94, so I figure I have nearly 3 to 40 years to live and I want to enjoy those. If I don't do this, even at my age and with my comorbities, then I won't make it even half that long.  I will keep you up on my progress, but I think you should also attend one of the seminars too. You may find you want to do this before I have my surgery! lol

Sherry,

Thanks for the encouragement.  I think i'm going to try and make a November seminar.  My daughter is going to help me get to one of these.  She had VSG on Sept. 10 and is doing great.  She wants me to attend one also and is willing to go with me to one also.
I broke my leg in July and am just now getting around to moving about again but very slowly.  I'm trying to get back in shape to even attend a seminar.
I'm hoping I live to be a ripe old age too and figure it would be nice to live t in a thinner body.  I'm working on losing weight now too to help things go better.
I'm glad for you and your surgery date . I know you must be so excited by now even though it is a wait.
I'll let you know how I'm progressing too..........JUDY

Rita, that was amazing!  It made me cry!  I can't wait to be a normal size again.  Your story brought back all the pain of being overweight but then showed the hope we have in being successful with our tool.  I so identify with the airplane seatbelt issues.  You are such an inspiration to us all.  My sister was so excited to find out you might be working when she ahs her surgery. Its like having "one of us" there and knowing you have walked through this journey gives us so much support.  Love ya! -Amy
