I am almost 7 weeks out VSG, I have been doing great , but yesterday I was hungry all day long, I just had the urge to eat all day.   I hate it.  I drank all my liquid, ate 3 small protein packed meals, but I just wanted to eat all day.  Anybody else have this problem?

Watch your carbs- even the good ones.  I find I am hungrier sooner if I eat too many beans.  And, choose more dense proteins like chicken and beef to stay with you longer.  Make certain you are getting enough liquids.  Sometimes thirst feels like hunger.

And, some days I am just more hungry than others.  Don't know why.  Just make good choices.

edited to say I thought the server ate my first response so I typed a new one then ended up with two!

I agree with Happy Cat but even with that....some days I just have that old beast on my back.  Some days it takes all that I have to fight it off...especially at night.  I love cruching especially when stressed....and when are we not stressed????  I crunch on ice....I chew gum until my jaws are sore...I try distraction...staying busy....THANK GOD IT ISN'T EVERY DAY ANYMORE LIKE PRE-OP!!!  A HUGE part of this is the mental part and we all have to learn how to best deal with that...I think we are probably all addictive personality types....so try to find a GOOD addiction!  :o)  HANG IN THERE!!!  WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!

My cures for hunger -- more water, gum, but, most usually sleep.  It sneaks up on me sometimes that I am needing some sleep and when I get a nap I am no longer hungry!

Yep, I have those days, but, it is not hunger that I fight...it's the munchies!!! Best thing is to find some sort of distraction. And, yes, solid protein will definitely keep you satisfied longer.

It's more than likely head hunger. Unfortunately they don't fix our brains while they are fixing the tummy.
