Next step goes how???

This is probably one of those dumb questions, but since I guess I don't have an advocate anymore or at least haven't heard from her in over a month.........What would be my next step in this plan of action for surgery....
I have had all my pre stuff done.....and I KNOW MY PRICE NOW.....I know my release date from the Cardio doctor.........Do I wait until I lose the remaining 2 lbs then call and get a surgery date?? I'm just wondering how you get a date now???   I can't wait to fill out my questionair on this....in the meantime....Does anyone have any suggestions.
Does anyone think I need to be seeing all these other people for appointments when the surgery isn't until the end part of Jan??? I can't see making monthly visits when I can't afford them and they aren't doing anything anyway....but maybe I'm wrong here.....I'm open for advice.....My kids would say that is rare.....but I am!!

Hmm, good question.  I guess I would probably call your advocate and leave a message asking for a surgery date.  Don't hold your breath since it will probably take a while.  Or, you could call and leave a message for the nurse practitioner.  Maybe she can get you a surgery date.  Have you seen her yet?  I saw her at one point about the time I got a surgery date.  I think it is entirely reasonable to ask for a target surgery date with the knowledge that it would be cancelled if you can't maintain the required weight loss.

I guess it is possible that your advocate does not know you were able to lock in your price.  Maybe she doesn't know you need a surgery date??
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I guess I can attempt a phone call, even though the last two...a month ago, were never returned. I would just like to say....I GOT A DATE....ya know??? Why do I always seem to be the one with all the really odd issues???   I guess it keeps life interesting huh? lol    I may call the lady who told me they would honor the price...I have her number. I can just ask her where I go from here. I only have 2 lbs to lose and surely in 4 mo. I can get that off...plus more.....

I would go ahead and make the call for a surgery date and as for the appointments thats totally up to you. I would find out why the reason behind them and make a decision based on need and what is best for you....
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

Hi, Sherry.
At the informational seminar with Dr. Walton, he said that if you miss a monthly appointment, you start the process all over again. Maybe I misunderstood, but I've had monthly appointments since I started the process, and they're included in the price. Hope this helps. Don't panic over what I said, though. Just call and see what they say.
Blessings,
Mary

It would sure be nice if they told people stuff like that! I will call on Monday and ask what in the world I am supposed to do about all this....I'm not about to start over! Thanks for that info.

Oh, I forgot. Didn't you get a list of things, marked, of what you had to do before surgery, like: attend a support group, get blood lab work done, get a cardio clearance, attend a diet class, see the exercise physiologist, see the nurse, get a psych. evaluation, etc.?

I have already done all that....I am just waiting on the date and to lose 2 more lbs....they wanted another blood work up but why get it now if they are going to need it again just before my surgery....that is the only thing not done......I guess I just need to try to call and talk to the office manager again. I'm sure she can help me.
I'm just kinda an odd situation so they are going to have to give me some more information since all of that is done and I can't do the surgery until Jan... I'll go see Dr. Walton if he wants me to and if it is included in the price but I don't see any need to see the Nut, the exercise physiologist, and Dr. Keller again. They never mentioned the diet class when I was there last.....

I forgot that you have that 6 month diet requirement, right? That would make a difference, I'm sure. Ring them on Monday, and I'm sure someone will answer all your questions. That's what your patient advocate is for. Brandy is mine, and I love her. I email her and call her, and she's always gotten back to me with 2 days.
Maybe you don't need the diet class, since you're on a supervised diet, but the info. is great. It tells you what to eat and not eat, how long to be on the post-op liquids, then soft foods, etc. I've read it 3 times, so far.

No, no diet requirement....Cardio requirement though. I will need the diet class to know what not to eat afterwards...
