Hi, Everyone.
I just wanted to report that at my weekly weigh-in (at home), I lost 3 lbs. for the week. I am thrilled with that. There are 6 lbs. that need to say bye-bye, in the next 2 weeks. I visit Weight Wise on the 16th (2 weeks from yesterday), and I'd REALLY like to get a surgery date. I appreciate all your support of me. Just reading your posts helps to keep me looking forward to my new sleeve.
Blessings,
Mary

Hang in there!!  I will be the first to tell you how frustrating the wait is. I was getting so frustrated with all the things they have you do. It made me feel like I was jumping through hoops. I finally got mine and it was the best feeling in the world.

Thank you, for your words of encouragement.
Have a blessed day,

I just want to say that what you are doing now is actually part of the surgery-not just hoops.  (Although I call them that too).  I was banded in Mexico, and I didn't have any prerequisite weight loss or diet from THEM, but I made changes (off carbonation, low carbs, low fat, boosted up on probiotics) before my surgery and went on a self imposed clear liquid diet a day or so early.  Why?  Because I wanted to show up with the cleanest intestinal tract and tiniest liver I could...and I think it paid off because I had no issues with infection, bleeding or any of those types of complications.  I do believe sometimes things just happen and are no one's fault, but it never hurts to prepare as best you can.  That's what you are doing now.

I met a woman who had surgery the day before I did, had been traveling and did no preparations.  She had a lot of nausea and vomiting as her body went through detox, I had to help her back across the border.  (That sounds really dramatic, I just held her arm, it wasn't  big deal) but I was very grateful that I was not the one puking.

Hi, Debra.
You're exactly right. I've been known to grumble a bit about all the requirements, but I do recognize that there is a reason for all of them. I know that the doctors want each of us to succeed and have as few complications as possible.
Even before I began the process, I chose the hardest thing for me to give up--diet soda--, to see if I had the self-discipline to walk this journey. With God's help, I've continued to do what it takes to eat and drink the way that will help me post-surgery.
If there are any issues post-surgery, I don't want them to be my fault. Sometimes things just happen. I know the Lord will help me.
I appreciate you, Debra.
Blessings,
Mary

Mary that is great!! I may not be the 10lbs we want off hear and there...but 10lbs in a week is not logical in our preop phase. 3 lbs is 3 lbs closer to your preop goal! Congratulations! I am tickled to death to have every lb go away and get me closer to my requirement.  Since I have 4 months to go, I fear going on a last "harah" binge and eating the world! So far though, I have just been off bread, rice, pasta and soda's. I do have to say I have my list of last meals! Ted's mexican food, Cattlemans, and Eichen's Chicken in Okarche! That's all. the only bad meal would be the mexican but hey it's a dream list.
I figured if I can't live with them afterwards, then I have no business having them now....I feel it will be so much easier on my body after the surgery...and my brain!

You girls stick with this and I will pray you get an early surgery date soon! It is wonderful to see you take these steps toward the new you!!!

Donna, you are such a giving ,caring, woman!  You amaze me with all the things big and little that you do. It makes me so thankful that I met someone like you! The border thing did have me worried...lol but I knew it was in a caring for her way...It did give me a chuckle! lol

Thank you, Sherry. I appreciate your support. By the way, do you still want my extra CPAP machine? If so, I will be at Weight Wise on the morning of Oct. 16th. I don't know if that will work for you. I think my first appointment is at 9:00, something like that. I have 4 appointments, but each is only 15 minutes long.
Blessings,
Mary

Yes, I will be glad to have your Cpap, if you are sure you want to donate it to our project. That would be great!! That will be the firs one we will have in our inventory! lol With the masks  and tuping coming down from Tulsa way soon, we will have a great ministry for those who need this help!
I can be up there on the 16th. It will be great to meet you! Ok we can set a time in a couple days!

Sounds great, Sherry. I'll be excited to meet you in person, as well. It looks like we'll be seeing our son on the 19th, so maybe I can get his extra CPAP machine, as well. That will make two! It will be important that each machine be cleaned and checked out by someone who knows how to do that. Maybe WW can put you in touch with someone who will do that rather cheaply.
Blessings,
Mary

You are doing great!!!  This is very doable.  Just keep following the plan and it will come off.  This is the hardest part.  Once you are sleeved it is so much easier.
