Pattye-put that carbonated drink down girl!  Step away from the Dew.

One of the things I think about when I get overwhelmed is WHAT IF I HADN'T had the surgery????   Well, I'd be dead or crippled and wouldn't probably have whatever it is I fear I'll lose at the moment.  In Mountainbiking we seek out the twisties....isn't it funny how they aren't as much fun in other aspects?

My thought is freelance before the holidays and look for a job after. 4th quarter gloom and doom and we have a new pres and everyone is suddenly optimistic.  I'm planning on taking an outside job next year too-we can look together.

Deb,
I did put that dew down when I finished it...lol
I went through the wound surgery and did fine till I found out that I had to spend the night do to not being able to get the vac till today.
I have though alot about where would I be if I had not had the surgery and like you I do not think my life would be as it is now. I do not regret having surgery nor all the complications I have had. What I do regret is the fact that I should have done this years ago when I first thought about it.
As for the job hunting....I am seriously thinking of going back to work in the business I had. I made more money and had less hassle.

Pattye, I can't imagine you woulnd't ber covered under the FMLA laws.  I think you are getting bad advise at work.  Talk to the head of HR and get the straight answers.  Being out of work at Christmas would be horrible.

But, if that is what happens you will be smokin' when you go job hunting!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I talked to my supervisor today who wanted me to come back to work today seems he does not understand what a wound vac is and that I have to be hooked to it 24 hours a day. Just going to the bathroom is a chore, carrying the pump and making sure I do not trip on cords is rough. So I could just imagine working an 7 an a half hour shift lugging it around.
My sis gave me this advice today...tell the super to take that job and shove it I aint workin their no more....
I have enough in savings to cover me for a few months and  be able to deal with what comes my way. My health is more important than any job....
