No one was going anyway-but I just got invited to a flyball practice that morning and I really want to go check it out.  It's a sport where the dog does the running and jumping (things I have trouble with) so I'm very interested in it.  A couple of Moon's relatives will be there so I can get some insight into what he'll become....(only he'll probably be better than that....OK, I'm awful).

Hey there Lyntoral....how are you feeling this afternoon?  I think we've all figured Deb out haven't we???  (we luv ya Deb!!)  I still wish you'd take my Cooper dog for a few days and teach him some things I can't seem to be able to master!!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

It depends on if it's time to take pain meds or not.  if not, not too bad, if I'm awake!

Yes, I'd never ditch you guys for a MAN, but a dog or a horse, or a snake.....LOL.

Moon has an older half brother for sale who is going to be an awesome dog-anyone looking to get into dog sports should give it a thought.....but this will not be a dog who sits at home in the backyard all day-you'd both be completely and utterly miserable.   The only reason I'm able to contain a border collie is because I have an attachment on my bicycle to run him regularly, and other dogs to keep him busy when I can't.

I'm actually going to train Moon to be a service dog (turn on lights, etc,) just to see if I can.  He won't be going anywhere, but if I do a good job, I might do it for a real handicapped person later.  He can't reach the light switch, but he can already open the back door-and he taught himself to do it.  I jus****ched a video on how to teach them to pick up clothes and fetch clothes from the dryer (I kid you not)....I'm going to get my butler after all!

It sounds like you'll be getting less exercise -- maybe not so good an idea

OH Contrare (Ok I can't spell french or speak it either)...MY exercise will come from riding the bike beside the dog conditioning him to run.  I will still probably do agility too, because I like it and the dog likes it-but I personally will not be able to run fast enough to really compete.  With flyball we aren't limited by my bad leg.  Yes, it's true, I want to win something.  Dang it.  (then when I'm tired the dog can come home and do the laundry-see other post above)

How about fetching the remote and beer?  Oh, Yeah, I forgot we can't have beer !

I'm teaching him to tug now-so he'll be able to tug open cabinets or the fridge.  I'm going to work out some sort of target (like a red cord or something) so he'll focus on the cord-then, in theory, if there is no cord on the cabinet, he won't open that.  Right now it's all big fun and games....but he tried to carry the poop scoop bucket the other day, so it's just a matter of time before he's fetching the laundry soap.

I'm so glad my dog came trained!!! I only wish I knew what she knows!  It sounds like you do stay busy with your urban animal farm! I hope you enjoy your day!

Lyn, it's good to see you up and doing a few things....Keep on the pain pills...I'm all about that untill you feel better. I'm not a macho woman!! lol
