Talk to me about the Quick Start Diet from WW.

I am going to Edmond for my first inital appt with DR B Thursday.  I want to get this ball rolling sooner than later, should I purchase the Quick Start Diet?  This is what I am thinking,  if I can get the weight off soon I would like to have the surgery before the end of the year.  Just ready to start the new year off with a bang, know what I mean.  I have already had my EKG done last year (crossing fingers he accepts it) had my lab done a few weeks ago, don't know about sleep study, need physch and dietician meeting.. I know he is probably booked for the end of the year, but if he could squeeze me in, I would so be over joyed..

Anyway, if the quick start diet would help me loose weight faster than weigh****chers, I want to go that route.  But if he can't schedule my appt for say a few months than I might as well do it on my own.  I can loose weight fairly quickly just keeping it off seems to be my problem.

So who has done the quick start diet and how many weeks did you do?  And were you able to keep it off before the surgery?  And is it correct that if I do a review online I can get a 20% discount?  Give me any and all scoop on the quick start diet..

Thanks in advance,
Sheila

My thought is to see what Dr. B has to say when you meet with him on Thursday.  All products in the MarketPlace have a 20% discount on Support Group meeting days - there are 4 of those this month - one being the day of your appointment.  Yes you get a discount with a review as well, I would do that as well and keep it for the future in case you are there on a day that is not already discounted.

The Dietitian would be the best one to direct you on the Quick Start or aggressive diet based upon the needs of your program.  There are many here who have been on the aggressive pre-op diet and have been highly successful.  I was an early surgery in the practice and we did not have the aggressive diet then.  I was on a 1200 calorie diet and lost 26 lbs even though I was not required to do so.

You definitely should prepare yourself for additional testing - and if it doesn't happen - yippee!  That way you do not set yourself up!  All patients have to go through the psych evaluation and the dietitian but the sleep study is based upon the needs - I know very few who have not been required to do it.  The GOOD thing about that is - Dr B and Dr W have the best success rate that I know of!!  They have few complications between them - in the grand scheme of things - and their patients are highly successful!

You cannot be in better hands in my opinion.  But then, I am partial to the two wonderful angels we have as surgeons too.  They saved my life and helped me lose almost 200 lbs in the past 26 months.  You can't beat that with a stick!

Good luck on Thursday!

I was one who did the agressive plan but I didn't have very many weeks to get it off.  I was head set on a surgery date during spring break.  It does work.  I might suggest that yo see if  you can get an appointment for the nutritionist on the same day as your consult.  That'd get you another appointment on the same day...just a thought!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

The aggressive diet from Drs. B and W make weigh****chers seem like an all you can eat feast!  Seriously, I had stopped losing on weigh****chers but did great on the pre-op diet from the nutritionist. Get an appt on the same day and get the plan fornm Chris or Jessica.  You will have to see one of them anyway.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
