Hi, Everyone.
If you recall, I've been feeling discouraged, because I hadn't lost any weight in over 3 weeks. I began to doubt if WLS is God's will for me. Since I have only 9 lbs. left to lose, I was hopeful that I could lose those pounds in the month to my next appointment (Oct. 16). It just wasn't happening.
As a believer, I want God's perfect will for my life, so I had to be sure about that, in regards to WLS. I decided to "put out a fleece." I prayed and asked the Lord to show me His will about WLS, by the results on the scale after 3 days of prayer, eating right, and exercising. If there was at least a 1 lb. loss, I'd know that it is God's will for me to have the surgery. If no loss, I'd know that it is God's will for me not to have the surgery.
This morning was the moment to weigh in. When I got on the scale, I had lost 1 lb.!  WLS is on, and I can now feel confident and settled that it is God's perfect will for my life.
Some may say that it was just a stall, and the 1 lb. loss just a coincidence, but, personally, I don't believe in coincidences, just God-incidences.
Thank you, to all of you, for your words of encouragement when I was feeling discouraged. I've been reminded that if I do my part, God will do His part.
Have a blessed day,
Mary

That's Great Mary!  I'm happy for you!  I have also lost a couple of pounds!  We are walking and I am eating better!  Cowboy sent me a diet.  High protein.  I am supposed to fast for 2 days before.  I just can't do that.  I get sick and irritable.  I work with too many little kids.  I can't be irritated all the time!  Plus I had company over the weekend.  A birthday celebration and I wasn't able to fast.  So I decided that I am just going to start the diet.  It may not work as well since I didn't fast first.  But I'm seeing some results so I can't be doing that much damage by not fasting!
I wish you luck on your journey!

Thanks, Kim.
Congratulations on cranking up the weight loss. High protein will do it, for sure. Keep walking, too.
Blessings,
Mary

Mary, I am glad you received your answer. I, too, struggled with the dilema of whether or not to have weight loss surgery and if it was the will of God for me.  I can say that I have come to have peace in my heart about my decision after much prayer.  I know it is not God's will for me to have all these health problems. When do you hope to have your surgery?
Emily

Hi, Emily.
I'm so glad you found peace about having surgery. I had, as well, but I let my lack of losing weight for those 3 weeks cause me to question. God is longsuffering, and He allowed me to do that, seek Him, and give me confirmation. I'm grateful.
I go back to Edmond on Oct. 16th. If I have all 8 lbs. off, I will get a surgery date then. Dr. Walton knows that I really want surgery by Thanksgiving. I'm going to try to be patient for God's perfect timing in that. It's hard, because, like everyone else, I want it yesterday.
You're right; God does not want us to have health problems. Thanks, again, for replying.
Blessings,
Mary
