Bike Riding?

The weather is now perfect for this and I know some of you are wheeled up now.....Anyone want to meet at the Oklahoma River next Sunday at 8:30?  I'd be up for meeting at the Bricktown lot and riding along the river.  Downtown on the weekend (at least in the mornings) is pretty tame-just a few bicyclers out and about.  I've got an extra slot on the rack if someone has a bike and needs a lift..

I'm thinking easy paced ride (slow****il we get tired, then turn back.  No drops (means we all stay together as a group-no one gets left behind).  It's always a good idea to bring along a bottle of water-it makes the ride a lot nicer.

Anyone?  Anyone?  (Pattye, you are exempt from THIS one since your surgery is Monday).

I can't even make it around the block on my bike right now.  I sincerely need practice!  And I've only ridden my bike twice since I bought it.  Now that's plain sad and embarrassing.

I'll work on that!

No, it's life.  Trust me, you'll ride further in a group when you are chatting, and there are a bunch of you around so you don't feel like the chubby lady on the bike everyone is watching.  And, in a group, it's easier to take rest breaks-I always feel kind of silly stopping to rest when I'm alone......unless there is a park bench and group of shirtless men playing frisbee, then I usually pull up with a terrible leg cramp and stretch out on the bench for a good rest.....LOL.

Another benefit of going slow is that the men who can't stand to be behind slow people pass you.  Those fellows are usually in great shape (bikers have the BEST calves) and the eye candy makes for a a nicer, more pleasant ride.  (any dude that rides around in lycra WANTS to be looked at-so it's all good).

Yes Lynn/Lou and Ruth-I'd put biker  legs up against cowboy butts-heck, that would be an awesome contest.  Let's work on that one.

I went for a ride today-I finally figured out my front brake was rubbing-I kept trying to figure out why it was sooooooo hard no matter what gear I used.  I hate it when that happens, but I got a very good workout in 15 minutes I was dying....LOL.

I have plans next Saturday and I'm still bad at the gears but I'm up for it the following Saturday.  I should have my bike rack by then.  donna

I was thinking Sunday-I don't want to conflict with the walkers-they are doing such a great job!
