I went to see Dr. Worley on Friday and he gave me the all clear. He said my lungs looked great and you couldn't even tell that I used to smoke. That made me very happy. So, I go for my echo on Monday and on Thursday I have my psych eval. As I get closer to having all this done I get more excited about it. I just wish I didn't have to wait until January to have the surgery. I know the time will fly by, but I am not a patient person. Maybe some of the people in line ahead of me will change their minds or something. Can't wait to get this done.

Hi, Emily.
I'm excited for you, that you have been cleared at one more level. Good luck with the heart and psych. eval.  I'm sure you'll do fine, and you'll be that much closer to your surgery in January. I know it's hard to be patient. It gives you more time to get off more weight, though, and that will help you have a surgery with fewer complications.
Blessings,
Mary

Congratulations, on a clean bill of health! You are passing all your tests with flying colors!! That is wonderful. I am really glad that the smoking didn't leave you with residual effects.
I am a January surgery too and I want it tomorrow!!! My reasons are because of my heart Dr. though and that makes it even harder and easy to start blaming him, however; I know it is for the best for me.
I am not a patient person either. I want things done and done right away. Obviously, I have a lesson to learn in that area and am also learning to trust in the decisions of the doctors. I didn't get this way overnight and it isn't getting done overnight...I am willing to wait on my dream to come true. Soooooooo we can just wait it out together!

CONGRATULATIONS ON PASSING YET ANOTHER OBSTACLE. JANUARY SOUNDS LIKE A LONG TIME BUT IT WILL PASS BY. THIS GIVES YOU TIME TO LOSE ANY PRE-OP WEIGHT AND PRACTICE GOOD EATING HABITS. CUT OUT CAFFEINE NOW AND DRINK LOTS OF WATER TO GET YOU IN THE HABIT. EVERYTHING WILL BE GREAT FOR YOU!

I have been caffiene and soda free for 6 months now. I tried to drink a soda the other day and it upset my stomach. It was awful. I am also low carbing it. What I need to work on is taking smaller bites and chewing my food more. I am a pretty fast eater.

I'm over a year out and I still need to work on that too (slow, small bites)
