Thanks, Michael.
My body is just wierd. I tried the Optifast plan and gained on it. I've done better on my own, which is high protein, low carbs, but I guess I've been on it long enough that my body has done its adjustment thing, which it tends to do.
I'm sure I'll wake up tomorrow in fight mode. Right now, I'm just very, very tired. I'll be fine, though.
Thanks for sending your advice, encouragement and loving thoughts.
Blessings,
Mary

hAVE YOU DONE THE TEST WITH THE EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST? Cannot think of what it is called, it was $150 well spent...it tells you exactly what your heart rate should be to burn fat Mine was between 98 and 109. Anything over 109 does not burn my fat. It is a very simple test done through a computer decoding youroxygen output and fat metabolism and putting a number on it. After I did that test, the weight really came off.

No, but she told me about it. I have over $5,500 in medical bills (from my hospital stay in June and a one-night sleep study that our hospital here in Winfield charged $3,000 for), so I'm a bit hesitant to add to them.
How do you keep track of your target hear rate, since that test? Just curious.
Blessings,
Mary

It's out of my hands, now. I put out a "fleece" and told the Lord that I would continue eating right and exercising for the next 3 days. If I don't lose at least one pound, when I weigh Monday morning, then I will take that to mean that I'm not supposed to continue on this WLS journey. That's my part--diet and exercise. His part--the result. I'll let you all know what happens. Thanks for your encouragement.

Mary, that's a lot to heap on God isn't it? He didn't put the weight on you, you did...and now you want Him to take it off according to your schedule? I usually shy away from spiritual comment, but I do feel moved to say this-that faith isn't about deadlines. I also think your belief in your ability to succeed or fail has a direct impact on the result. Try asking for more patience to see this process through and quit looking for reasons to quit the process.
I'm being a little tough here because I care what happens to you, and I apologize if I'm out of line.
No apology necessary, Debra.
If I hadn't done ALL I know to do these past 3+ weeks, I'd wholeheartedly agree with you. Having said that, my relationship with the Lord is such that I ABSOLUTELY want His prefect will for my life. He has helped me lose 55 lbs. over the past year, and while it has been slow, it's been steady. Putting out a "fleece" when one isn't sure of God's will is biblical and, while it may seem strange to some, it is normal to me. I've only done that a few times, and each time I accepted the outcome and later it was confirmed. One was a "yes" and the other was a "no." God knows my heart. I'm asking for His will, not supernatural weight loss. I'm willing to do the work, with or without surgery. I just need to make sure surgery is His will for me. I'm not looking for a reason to quit the process. I can say that, honestly.
Thank you for caring about me. I know your heart is in the right place, and I appreciate your comments.
Blessings,
Mary
