I still remember how great it felt to get electricity back on last winter.  Civilization!   Yay.  Take some time for yourself and acknowledge that you are going to have some bad moments and post traumatic stress.  (I hate that term but it fits)....seeing your neighborhood leveled is just not something we do every day...and hearing a tree split apart and literally scream is shocking to say the least!   Those are the things we never talk about, but maybe we should.

Make sure St. Whoever still has his head in the sand and his butt in the air-it's time to move to Oklahoma!

Yeah, we are dealing,  but it gets better by the minute.  CIVILIZATION is dead on point, there....it is so nice that the people have returned to their human forms rather than the beasts they were, fighting over silly things.  UGH I don't understand that...we are supposed to get together, not fall apart when this happens!

St. Joseph is still ass end up.  Don't think that after the hard rain, I didn't go out there and do a lil tap dance on him to get him further into the ground.  I'll show HIM, snickersnort!

Thanks to the electricity Gods that restored your power!  I didn't have power for 11 days last December- thought I was gonna go crazy and/or freeze to death.  I cannot imagine 2 weeks without power and with 2 kids!  You deserve a medal for allowing both kids to survive during the ordeal!

Hurry and get that house sold and get your fanny to Oklahoma!

Glad you have returned to the land of power and normalcy.  Wecome back!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Giiiiiiiirrrrrrrrl...let me tell ya...I was wrapping my body in foil, swinging chickens around my head, while dancing a polka trying to get the power on.  i felt really silly until someone told me that folks were CALLING the power company to reason with them on why they should have electricity...some people!

My fanny is trying to get to OK!  Unfortunately, there aren't many looking for a home while in a torrential downpour with 80+ mph winds...go figure.  I am hoping things pick up soon!

I am so glad to be back.  Funny thing is, after the power came on, I turned the A/C on, the computer, then started laundry...in that order, lol  I NEED A FIX!  giggle  Both kids DID survive, but only bc the are REAAALLLLY cute.   Actually, a bunch of  us moms let the neighborhood kids over all at once, giving someone a total break for a while, then we switched off every few hours.  It worked, surprisingly!

'Bout friggin time!  I missed you, girlfriend.  You are so funny and I missed your posts.  Isn't it amazing how important electricity is?  Even when it's off, I'll try to turn on a switch or blow dry my hair.  How stupid is that?  I guess I just take it for granted.

Anyway, I'm glad to see you have come through the storm with your humor intact.  That is a blessing!  I'm happy it is all behind you too.  Can't believe how much crap you had to wade through.  What is that saying?  God doesn't give you more than you can handle but you wish he didn't trust you so much!?  Or, What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger!

Glad you're back online!

I missed you, too!  Everyone here was in my thoughts!  On that electricity thing, OMG, I turned switches on hourly, thinking something would come on.  My 5 y/o even gave me that "look" that screamed WTH are you doing, Mom??  It is easy to take for granted...too easy.  One thing I came away with from all of this is to be SO thankful for what we have, and not take anything for granted.  I guess it was just my time around to be reminded of that.

Hmm..what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, eh?  Well, either that, or it is just toying with you like a cat does a mouse, waiting to catch ya with your drawers down, eh?  Mental note:  don't drop drawers anytime soon...

Yeah, I missed y'all something fierce!
