HOWDY!!!

Well, we made it thru.  We just had our electricity restored about 90 minutes ago, and we are GOOD TO GO!  We didn't have much damage, beyond our trees and shrubs deciding that they would be MUCH happier on the grass or in the neighbor's yard, that is.  Thank goodness for hardworking cabana boys, eh *wink*  lol

The past almost 2 weeks have been rough for me and the kiddos.  Car died, had to buy new one, so Kerry came down for the weekend after Ike.  I broke my foot on  the Friday of Ike by dropping a can onto my instep, then I dropped a tree limb on it on Sunday, only to have the cat pee on my new carpet, me swat at him, nailing my foot again (damn karma), then I finalized the complete break by trying to scoot heavy, soaked towels across the laundry room floor, kitchen floor, and bathroom floor after the washer flooded-6 times-bc the generator wouldn't hold current, so the pump wouldn't work, causing water to gush EVERYWHERE....oh, and don't get me started on hot, sweaty, cranky kids, living on ravioli-o's, wanting the chocolate that is melted in a puddle in its wrapper on the counter, sick of water, wanting soda (say NO to sugar-cracked out kids in disaster situations, FYI), getting devoured with mosquitoes the size of shetland ponies, who want to ride in the car 24/7 to get a break from the heat, but dont realize it can be a 2 hr wait for gas..if you could find it.

Oops...tangent...refocus...thank you so much for keeping us here in TX in your thoughts and prayers.  We really needed them, and SO appreciate all of you!

Kisses!
Janice

Glad to hear you are getting back to normal! but boy, when it rains it pours!
Our branch down there was damaged but they got up and running within a few days. I am still not sure how they managed that!

Yep, we are "normal" now, giggle.  For the most part, it wasn't bad, just an inconvenience at most.  We are so fortunate, as many were left with major damage or nothing at all.  As for your branch, the power company was trying to get the businesses up first so that life would not come to a complete halt. Glad to hear it wasn't too bad for them!

Hugs!

Bless your heart, Janice.
In between the chuckles, I think my blood pressure rose, just reading your post. I'm off to listen to soothing music and the Psalms.
I pray your life quiets down real soon.
Blessings,
Mary

Amazingly enough, Mary, as soon as the power came on, nothing else mattered.  Thank God everyone came thru it OK, none worth the damage in my neighborhood, but my heart goes out to those who lost so much.

Thanks for the warm fuzzies!

Giggle!  Thanks for checkin on me, Amy, as that meant SO much!  I am glad I was able to have Sarah post for me.  You are SOOOOOOOO sweet, I could just eat you up with a spoon...well, if you wouldn't make me dump, that is, lol

I am so blessed.  Even with all the craptacular things that happened, I cannot complain.  We had no looters, the kids (although whiney and bored) did rather well MOST of the time.  I am just glad we can get back to doing what we do around here, unhindered...ya know?

Let's try to focus on the Glad game thoughts in this situation........
1. You can be glad that you don't need makeup or hair styles in Houston anyway...but right now you don't even need a shower! whooooohooooo!
2. There is plenty of "quality time"with the sugar cracked out children"
3. Mopping with legs is a great work out!  No to mention the floors are really clean. No focus on on the negative issue now remember.....
4. Though you want a soda....Be glad you CANT FIND any!
5. Be glad you are moving to OKLAHOMA!!!!!!!! We only have tornado's!!! You can hide from those
We are so glad you are OK! That is the best thing of all!!

Honey HONEY!  We have been focusing on the positive and laughter for 2 weeks here.  Gotta be strong for the kiddos, ya know.  We had several days of living like the Clampett's, but it wasn't bad...just an "extended" camping trip, I guess.

I am SOOOOO wanting to move NOW!  I have dealt with tornadoes while living in St. Louis, so that is no biggie.  I think never having gone thru a major storm sorta freaked me out, with the unexpected and all.

Thanks for the Glad game!
