You may have to think of protein drinks as medicine.  Just do it!  Your body must have some protein to function properly.  I found that immediately post-op the only protein drink I could handle was the EAS lite ready to drink.  I personally chose the chocolate.  Yu can buy a 4 pack for about 5 or 6 bucks.  I never tried the powder just the ready to drink.

Are you allowed cottage cheese yet?  If you don't like the flavor of cottage cheese then add some dry jello powder to it to make it fruit flavored (and pretty too!)  Try string cheese- check brands some have way more protein that others.

You are right, you have no energy since you aren't getting in any protein.  You can do it!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I also like the EAS chocolate low carb.  Alot of good advice here.  Hope it helps.  What are you mixing all this powder in?  Maybe that will make a difference.  If mixing with water, try the Braum's Skim milk.  Maybe some unflavered protein in some milk with SF chocolate?  I agree with the others.  Sometimes you just have to take your "meds".  Good luck, Michael

Pattye to the rescue I hope....I have the same problem and I am ten months post op. My nutritionist says he doesnt like the collagen protein but as they are only 2 ounces I can gag them down as long as I drink something afterwards...I get them at walmart body fortress protein slams with 26 grams. I have aslo tried beneprotein....not my fav but its a last resort. My meal replacement is low carb slim fast VANILLA.
ANd if worse comes to worse you can always puree stewed meat....add that to really creamed potatoes and there is some protein in that. My  My boyfriend did this form me since I hate cottage cheese he would mix classico spagetti sauce with low fat cheese nuke it then add it to the cottage cheese it was like lasagna....he would also add unflavored unjury to it for more protein. My life savior when it comes to food has been refried beans (fat free) with low fat cheese and salsa.....
YOu are not a failure you have just hit a rough spot. If ya need someone to talk to email me and I will give u my number
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it
