ONE STEP CLOSER

MY PCP FILLED OUT PAPER WORK FOR MY WLS YESTERDAY. I SPOKE WITH A NURSE AT THE SURGICAL ASSOC AND SHE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO SEE THERE PULMONOLIGIST AND I MADE THE APPT IT IS OCT 16TH IN TULSA. THEY ALSO SAID I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE A EKG AND A ECCO DONE. MY PCP DID THE EKG YESTERDAY IN HER OFFICE AND I HAVE MY ECCO ON THURS IN JOPLIN (30MIN AWAY FROM WHERE I LIVE). I MADE THE APPT TO SEE THE PSYC DR (I WORK ON A PSYC FLOOR IN A LOCAL HOSPITAL AND THE PSYC DR SAID HE WOULD CLEAR ME FOR SURG AND SEND THE REPORT. HE DID THIS AT NO COST JUST A PROFFESIONAL COURTSEY. GOTTA LOVE WORKING IN HEALTH CARE) THE NURSE AT SURG ASSOC SAID I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET MY CONSTATION APPT WITH THEM UNTIL MID NOC EARLY DEC. (THAT SUCKS) BUT I CAN GET AS MUCH TEST AND PRE OP STUFF DONE AS I CAN. 

Congratulations! They sure make us jump through a lot of hoops for this surgery. I know there is a reason for everything but that doesn't make it any fun.

congrats on getting your testing done. I am using surgical associates also, Dr Katsis.  I have my appoinment with the pulm, Dr. Worley in about 2 hours.  He is a really nice man. I have seen him before. Nov. isnt that far away. I can't see Dr Katsis until Dec and surgery in January. There are 20 people ahead of me. I hope some of them drop out...lol so it will move quicker. Keep us updated on your progress.
