Is there a stomach virus going around????

DH just got home a few minutes ago and he is doubled over in pain.. Agony out holding his stomach..  He has thrown up twice but still doubled over with pain.. Has drank sprite and just took some pepto, but that doesn't seem to be helping..

I am off to take the kids to school, than will come straight home to check on him.. NOt a good time for him to be sick as I have a party planned Saturday.. Oh I hope this passes..

Any info on the virus and how long does it last?

Hi!  Yes, there is a bad stomach virus going around.  A couple of daycare kids had it last week.  It lasts about 24 hours.  Their mom said they threw up every 15 mins for about 5 hours.  I hope your DH gets over it quickly!  Hopefully no one else in your family will get it.  Get out the lysol, clorox wipes, and hand sanitiser!  Lots of luck to you!

Just as a precaution, I'd press in on his right lower part of his stomach. Note the feel of the area....Is it real hard, or is it still soft feeling....Push in and release quickly. If he notices a severe pain in that right lower part....You might go ahead and take him to the Dr.  And of course we have to ask about bowel movements.... Is he constipated or have diarrhea....
Symptoms of apendix issues are  nausea, vomiting, a firm, ridged stomach...not mushy feeling, severe pain when you push in and release quick and normally constipation...but not always.  It probably is the virus, but it is always important to do these checks on kids and adults alike to see if it could warrant a trip to the doctor, just to be safe.

Sounds like appendix to me.  I'd get a call to his doctor. 

Yep, gatorade gatorade gatorade.  This one seems to be a gut buster version-lots of pain and various explosions of different kinds.

EVen if it comes up, keep drinking until it stays down.  With my father, we just fed him Ensure and Gatorade until he could keep those down, then progressed back to solid foods.  I'm lazy, if I'm going to puke/poot, I want the easiest medium possible.  I also apparently have little shame when it comes to discussing bodily functions....LOL. 

I just spent 6.5 hours in the ER at Bailey's Medical Center, and we are exhausted.. Not appendix, had those removed as a young child, first thought hernia but apparently not that, than gall bladder not that..  Sent home with medicine and call the doc within 48 hours. NOt to pleased with Bailey's ER at this point.. Hubby in bed and I am off to fill some scripts.. Thanks everyone for chiming in..

I'm so sorry you're going through all of this.  Some of that stomach flu is really rough and I hope that's all it is for you guys.  Hang in there and I sure hope he feels better soon.  I'll be praying for him (and you as well...)

ER's are not what they are cracked up to be....I had to fight the heart hospital ER over and over...The doc said I had GERD....I do but that wasn't it...I told him this was not GERD as I was on 2 Asiphex a day....Finally nearly 9 mo. later and after begging a doc to do an EGD.... I told the Doc. I'd buy a heart cath....sure enough I got a bonus...I got a heart cath and a new stent!  I know my body!! 
I'm glad they are saying it is not serious.....but it sucks that he is so sick!!

Thanks everyone for your input..  Followed up with our PCP and guess what!!! Out of the office for the rest of the week.. But nurse got involved and is setting him up for a scope.. Just got scripts picked up and headed in to check on hubby..

OMG yes and it is horrible !!!!!
