Thats one thing I was worried about.  She said she didn't change her mask and hose as often as some people do.  I thought if I were paying $85.00 each for them I wouldn't change either.  I remember she had written on the box cpap masks.  Thats what made me think about them.  I'll make sure.  I hope I know what I'm looking for!
Thanks!

I am laughing at us here....trying to do something so good, and yet don't know what the heck we are even doing!  lol I did have this thought....Go to this site and look around at masks and  hoses.....this will give you an idea of what you are looking at. I agree with Denise that most hoses are probably interchangable, so those should be great and if they are truely cpap masks, then they will be fine too....Everyone uses the ones that are most comfortable for them. Me, personally, I just got one of the cheapest and it happens to be comfortable. I didn't try on any others....
Call me if you need to...

All I can say is OMGsh!  People REALLY have to wear those?  I had no idea they looked like that on!  OH!  I have to go for my sleep study on OCT 10!   I SO DON'T WANT ONE OF THOSE!  I sleep on my stomach!  How would I ever sleep with a hose hooked to me!  I feel for anyone who has to use that!

It definitely takes time getting used to it.  the first couple of days I woke with a headache from the head gear. Now it doesn't bother me so much, but I have had it for 3 years now.

I have a high respect and lots of sympathy for anyone that has to wear that head gear.  I would not be able too.  I hope and pray that I don't have sleep apnea.  I can't wear that thing.  I hope to have my surgery in Dec so maybe I won't have to wear it long if I have to wear it at all!  Good luck on your journey!!!

The 10th is my birthday!!!!
The first week or so I bet I woke up a million times with the mask off....I kept pulling it off....I am doing so much better....I can't imagine wearing it and sleeping on your stomach!  Alot of them leave marks on the side of your face for hours after too.....What we go through!!!!  I sure hope you pass your sleep study!! lmao!

OHHHHH I so want to sleep on my stomach again!
Sher!

you are too funny!
I don't know how I will sleep if I can't.  I go through a ritual at night!  I kiss hubby goodnight, he rolls over, I roll over and my left foot has to hang off of the bed while I'm on my stomach!  I pretty much start off in the middle of the bed!  I move so much in my sleep.  I'm a little worried about the sleep test because when I wake up in the morning I have been all over the bed and my HAIR STAND STRAIGHT UP!  How embarrassing that will be.  I probably won't sleep for worrying about that! LOL!

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me." Erma Bombeck

Kim, don't worry about your hair. they stick electrodes all over your head and in your hair and mess it up anyway.  With all the cables you have attached to you it is hard to get comfortable.  they had to give me a sleeping pill because I couldn't get to sleep. After that I was out until they woke me up to put a mask on me.  I will say a prayer for you. I hope that you don't have sleep apnea either. It is no fun. I do sleep alot better now that I have my cpap machine, but it was very difficult to get used to and I sometimes still pull it off in my sleep even after 3 years.
