Hi!
I just wanted you to know I left the note in the ladies mail box that had the masks and hoses...Well, she just called me back and told me to come by Wednesday that she would see what kind of a deal she could make me.  She had 2 big boxes of each!  So I will take some cash and see what she'll do!  I told her I would buy them all if I could afford them.  I told her what I was doing with them.
I'll update when I know more!
Happy Sunday all!

Well, Emily. I am totally self pay and unemployed. My mother is giving me an early inheritance of the money for the surgery, but I still needed to pay for a sleep study, a stress test, and all the other requirements of the nutritionish visit, psych. visit, labs and so on. I was found to have severe sleep apnea and needed to be on a cpap machine. They are costly! So EdtheCat gave me one after borrowing one for now....I am hoping to get some machines donated after they are no longer needed. We have two coming up soon.  If we can get the masks and hoses also, then maybe we can provide a free cpap with a mask and hoses for those in real financial need and without insurance...Kinda a pay it forward type thing....Blessing others. I had to buy my own mask and hoses and they ran 85 dollars....That was cheap, compared to having to buy the machine and all....The only problem I can think of with this, is getting the settings right according to need. If a person has the sleep study at least they won't have to have the expense of a machine too and can probably get the settings from that.....I'm still in the thinking process but at least it's a start!

I am sorry you have sleep apnea.  I have severe sleep apnea myself.  My insurance paid for my cpap at 80 %. That is awesome that you are doing this. What a great thing. You will be blessed 10 fold.

I just hope the hoses and masks are "universal" and if I buy all of those they will be able to be used.  I'll just hope they will!!

Kim, hoses and masks are indeed universal.  They fit all machines. The part that is not universal is the faces that the masks fit on!

Kim....I just dozed off in bed and thought of something! Make sure the tubing and masks are for Cpap machines. What brought me back awake was that I remembered when my Grandma was living here with me, she was on an oxygen machine. Hospice had it set up for us and the place brought over a bunch of  clear tubes and masks, but they weren't cpap hoses or masks. They were the type of oxygen tubes and masks used in the hospital. When she died, I had a bunch leftover. The tubes were real small. I would just hate to get them and them be the wrong stuff...As long as they are for Cpap machines we are set!! Now I'm going back to bed! lol night all!
