CPAP MACHINES AND FRIENDS

I think it's wonderful that you want to do this, Sherry. Maybe that's why you had your CPAP challenges, so you'd have the experience and know that you want to help others avoid the same thing happening to them.
Before you and I "talked," I had decided I would contact Brandy at Weight Wise, just to see if they could use these extra CPAPs. I would think they could afford to have them cleaned and serviced. It may be that you can be a liason with them, for this work.
You will definitely want people to understand that the hose and mask won't be cheap, but some medical supply places will allow people to pay it out, on time.
Blessings,
Mary

True, the masks and hoses aren't cheap...BUT it will be cheap compared to the machines! I got my mask and hose for $85. Though that was alot to little ole me right now....It was better than paying for both the mask and the machine.
I would just think that trying to add something else to Brandy's already busy schedule, might keep her from being able to do her job...... but maybe that's a thought.

Someone told me that Mercy Hospital took donated ones but did not say what they would do with them....I would rather donate it to someone who needs it. Just let me know
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

What a wonderful idea!   I am still waiting for my CPAP, my doc ordered a very specfic brand and the DME has to special order it.  I have a friend *****fuses to use hers, I can't imagine! Maybe she will donate it to my husband!

You can order masks online for much cheaper than a local DME place.  A new mask comes with a new hose.  Or, hoses online only cost about $12- $15 unlike the DME places that charge up to $60+ for one.

A CPAP clearing house is a good idea!

How often do you replace your hose and mask, and what's your favorite on-line place for ordering? I had to pay $179 for mine!
Thanks & Blessings,
Mary

Earlier in the summer I went to a garage sale where they had a HUGE box of Masks and a Huge box of hoses!  They were $1.00 for a mask and another for the hose.  I wish I had known what they were! They were individually wrapped in plastic and brand new!!!  I would have bought the whole lot!
I might go by the house, it was here in Claremore and see if they sold them all.  I had NO IDEA they cost so much!  I really didn't even know what they were at that time.  The lady there told me.  But I didn't really think much of it!

Had my husband not taken mine, I would be a cheerful donor!

He got a new one about the same time I got mine. His old one is at his parents' house, and mine is at my parents' house. That way when we travel he can't forget his machine. It's already there.

Traveling somewhere else overnight doesn't happen very often right now, especially since we still don't know what's wrong with him.

That's great that you've found willing donors. Anyone self pay needs all the breaks they can get!

Prices online for masks vary dramatically.  I have found CPAP supply USA is usually the cheapest.  Just google what mask yu want and check prices.
