Amy - I am so sorry to hear this news.  I'm kind of late on this post but I hope that by now everything is ok.  I can't believe how much sweet, little Randy has been through!  He's had a rough ride!  Please know that I am thinking about you both and pray that he is better ASAP!  Keep us posted!

Good news! No leak or abscess.  However they beleive his pancreas was injured during his surgery and that there are pockets of pancreatic fluid in there.  They drained the fluid from around his lungs and will send it off.  The dr. said it didn't look infected to him.  They want him to get anothr CT scan in 3 weeks and then see the dr.  I figure his situation is not that dire or they wouldn't send him away for 3 weeks.  His white count is finally down to normal..7700.  Yea!!!  He said he feels great this afternoon and better than he has felt in days.

I am hoping and praying that all this fluid is absorbed from his body in the next 3 weeks and they don't have to do anything further.  Thank you everyone for your PMs, prayers, and thoughts.  I really love this group!

I am so glad that he's feeling better.  Hopefully it was a self sealing leak or they can invent some pancreatic fix a flat and he'll be good as new.

That's wonderful news. They didn't put a chest tube in did they? Is he home? You guys try to have a relaxing weekend.

No chest tube and yes he is at home.  They just took a needle and went in through his back to draw out the fluid.  They didn't drain all of it just enough for a good sized sample.  I'm ready to have a fun day for a change!!
