DOT?????
I"m home. We decided not to stay for the support group meeting tonight. My brother comes from so far away it would have been too late when he got home esp. considering how little sleep we got... On his way to my house last night he hit two deer and smashed up his jeep. really sucked, but it is still drive-able.
So, it was so late by the time he got to my house after that, we decided not to get a hotel room down there and ended up leaving my house bound for FBH at 2:30 a.m.
I checked in at FBH at 5:30 a.m., went to pre-op, was taken into the OR just after 7 a.m. Don't remember what time I got out. I think it was about 45 or so minutes later... Anyway, I got 3L of fluids via IV and was discharged at about 10:30 after they knew I could drink and hold it down.
Dr. Walton said my stricture was the size of a pinhole. He said it really could't have been any worse without being completely closed. I was amazed at how fast I felt better after the procedure. It wasn't painful at all. I have a very slight sore throat, but other than that I'm ecstatic!
I also showed my rash to Dr. Walton and he agreed that it is likely due to the durabond glue. While I had the IV in, he gave me a shot of steroids and I could tell by 10:30 when I changed back into my clothes that it was lighter! That ROCKS!!!
I also met Mary Law. She is such a sweetie! Yes, I was extremely tired when I talked to her. I think I still had some loopy from the drugs of my procedure AND I was living on very little sleep, so it was a crazy combination! As I was telling her about my stricture, The lady next to me said her daughter had one pinhole sized too and she was a VSG, so it can happen... Just more rare.
I also saw Rita briefly. She said "Dot, I told you to get in here!" (yeah, she knew what she was talking about! lol)
While I was there I paid a visit to Kim McCrary. She looked really good, and as always, was in good spirts and very positive. She showed me her central line where she is getting TPN, and her drain. Her husband was quiet :o) I think he was tired too!
So, today turned out to be a very good day for me. Not only did I get my pouchie fixed, but I got to meet two new members of my OH family.
Thank you to EVERYONE for your concerns, thoughts, and prayers! You all ROCK!
Love ya all!
To the Tulsa Peeps, sorry I didn't make it to Olive Garden. Hope you understand :o)

What sucks about my brother and the deer is that he is a MAGNET for deer for some reason. He almost rode his motor cycle last night. I'm so glad he didn't that could have been really BAD! He would have been bundled with jacket and gloves, helmet, etc... But, still!
Now, I just have to pray that the stricture doesn't come back. Some people have to be treated up to 3 times before it is finally gone for ever!
Did you come in the recovery room when Dr. Walton was in there? I thought I saw you, but I was loopy! lol
