Well what more can I say...but I made myself an omlette(1 egg), with cheese parmesean and cheddar.  Holy cow...how YUMMY!!!  I only ate half, but wow how scrumptous!

I will say that since I haven't eaten in almost three weeks all the swelling in my legs is gone and of course my clothes are loose.  I will weigh in with Dr. G on Friday and can't wait.  I know that starting mushies today will stall the weight loss, but that is okay because I know from all of you that it is only temporary.

Questions...

While I was eating my stomach was sore, I wasn't exactly nauseous, but little pangs of pain here and there...is that normal???

Also, I realize that I was taking too big of a bite, which I tried not to do.  Even though I chewed very thoroughly before I swallowed, it still had trouble going down.  How long did it take before you guys were able to eat semi-normally??  Meaning without having to think about every little thing you did, from portion size, chewing, swallowing, etc...

Anyway, thanks for listening and you are truly such a HUGE part of the biggest change of my ENTIRE LIFE.  You guys ROCK!!

The first egg for me was soooooooooo good. I did feel the little pain too the first few times I ate mushy foods.  Have you purchased some baby spoons?  The first few months I ate everything with a baby spoon, it really helps to keep the bites small.  At almost 7 months out I still have to pay attention to bite size, chewing and how fast I am eating.  If I slip, I get the foamies. It is my understanding that you will always have to watch how fast you eat and that you chew well to be successful.

Im glad you are feeling better and you will be amazed at how much you lose that first visit back.

I never had pain, just fullness.  And, yes, it is very important to keep the bites small and the portions small.  You don't want to stretch out your new little friend !!!

Well, I had VSG instead of RNY was I don't know how different we are.  But I can tell you that eating did feel very weird in the beginning.  It is really not a feeling that you can describe.  It will take several weeks before you approach anywhere near normal.  Most of the times I now feel pretty normal but I still have times where stuff just doesn't work.  So I know right away to stop eating and back away!  Ha!

I still have an issue with eating too fast.  That is a hard habit to break and I'm still trying to learn it.  At 3 1/2 months out, I still have to think things through so I can be sure I'm making good choices.  It is SO worth it!

Let us know how the weigh in goes. That's a big event!

I'm glad you made it to mushies.  Now you can start to really enjoy this big journey!

Buy some small baby spoons.  I ate every meal with one for the first few weeks.  It was the only way I could keep my bites small enough.  Your tummy is going to have to relearn how to accept food.  You have been on liquids for so long it just gave up any hope of ever getting food again.  And, you paid some one big bucks to cut your tummy in half and staple it up!  Give your poor pouchie some time to figure out what the heck you want it to do!  Go slow, and be gentle.

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Hey congrats girly I have to agree food was great and I to ate about half and egg with some cheese.  I have tried this really good tuna called alcore or something like that and you can buy three little cans for like 3 bucks and it took me three meals plus to get one can down so it goes a long ways.  I think this weekend im going to try the refried beans with cheese I cant wait... How are you doing all together with everything?
