Please tell me you mean the singer, not the Mother of Jesus! If it's the latter, I want to know how you know! haha
[Totally thankful that there's a verse that says, "God sits on His throne and laughs."]
Blessings,
Mary (who no longer has big boobs)

I would love to be there, but I"m not in the mood for celebrations today. It's my mom's birthday, and as I can't give her presents, I took fresh flowers to the cemetery over the weekend.

You guys have a great time. I'll be thinking of you.

I'm sorry for your loss. My mom has been gone nearly 7 years, and it's still hard. I bought a bag of smooth rocks from WalMart, and, with a permanent marker, I wrote something on each one, something that my mom gave to me, like: unconditional love, music talent, laughter, etc.  On one of the anniversaries of her passing, I went to a brook nearby, looked at each stone, remembered my mom and spoke my gratitude for each thing on each stone, then I put each stone in the brook. I cried a lot, but it was very healing. I still miss her, but it's not as raw as the first few years.
I'm thinking of you.
Blessings,
Mary

Thanks, Mary. I didn't take the time to grieve her like I should've. I came back from the funeral and was doing surgery, National Board testing, and teaching research classes. I lost my Dad 10 years ago and the anniversary of Mom's death is Sept. 24. This will make 1 year..so it's still raw. I like your idea of the stones. That's great. I appreciate the prayers. As you're saying them, please include my DH. We still don't know what's wrong with him. He's been coughing for 2 months and the docs are stumped.

Bless your heart.
I will pray that you will have the time, even if only for a day, to let go of all your many responsibilities (even your DH), and go to a place where you can wail and wail. You must grieve. I tried to just pretend that my mom was away on a trip and couldn't contact me. That's why 3 years after her death, I was still a mess. I didn't cry, so I wasn't sleeping and I was having terrible anxiety and panic attacks. If pain doesn't come out one way (emotionally), it will come out physically (illness, etc.). I'm sure you know all of this. It's just a loving reminder. It's time to grieve.
I am still praying for your husband. Has he been able to quit smoking yet? I'm sure it's very difficult, but it will help him. I assume they've done a scan of some kind on his lungs?
God give you strength,
Mary
