Okay you will see that I am thinking towards the future and food possibilities, as I know I will not actually be able to eat meat until 6 weeks out.

I love, love, love surf n turf.  My question is this...how many of you can actually eat steak??  I like mine medium rare or rare and know about the small pieces and chewing the heck out of if, but I have heard that many people still cannot eat steak.

Second, I love fish, shrimp, etc...Mahi Mahi and shrimp anyway you fix it...just like Bubba on Forrest Gump...lol.  How do you guys do with fish and Shrimp???

I actually am an avid Sushi lover, I really like all the Sushi rolls which of course are full of rice which isn't good, so I am hoping I am going to be able to keep my steak and fish.  Just though I would ask, because again there have been quite a few people that say they have a hard time with meat period...UGH!!  That would be a sad day for me...

If I haven't told you guys...LUV YA for all your support and I am feeling great today!!  Clothes are getting looser everyday or so it seems and mushies is tomorrow...YAY!!!  WOO HOO, well friends have a great Monday!!

Yeah for mushies!!!   I can eat both surf and turf.  It depends on the steak and how it is prepared as to if I can eat it or not.  Mine has to be really moist and tender and not dry.  I find that fish is one of the easiest things for me to actually it because of it's texture.  Probably shrimp is among the hardest fish for me to eat but I do eat it.  Everyone is so different and your pouch is going to call the shots for you.  Just take it really easy when you can have regular food.  What I couldn't eat early on I can some now.  I couldn't eat salad at all in the beginning but I do now.  The pouch is the "king" and it'll have what it can have...no more or no less and he'll sure let you know when he's had enough, if it's the wrong thing or if he doesn't like it!!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Like Deb, I can also eat the turf and the surf at this point.  Medium rare beef has been one of the eaiest solid proteins for me ever since surgery.   Well cooked (not overdone) fish has also been pretty easy to get down.  As for shrimp and lobster - I will say that I tried both of them a bit too early after surgery and "decided" to wait a while... but now I'm back in the groove with both.

Just be sure to take a friend... you won't be able to eat the whole thing, and sometimes leftover proteins just aren't quite the same and don't go down as easily as the first day.

Start with those mushies... I still think that those first bites of refried beans were some of the best things I had ever eaten.  If you're going for the scrambled egg, be sure to beat in a little cottage or ricotta cheese to soften it up (thanks to the great folks here for that tip!) otherwise, it can be a bit much for the first day.

Congratulations on surviving the liquid stage!!! Great things lie ahead!

I can surf and I can turf!  I'm really fortunate in that I know almost immediately if something is not going to work!  (gyros meat at the fair yesterday - knew immediately that I better not eat one more bite!)

As Debbie and John said, your tummy is now the dictator and will be making your decisions for you or you'll pay the price.  But for me, that's a good thing.  I wasn't making very good decisions on my own so it's better that the tiny tummy is in the driver's seat!

Congrats on the mushies.  Life gets immensely better from here and you aren't gonna believe your body in the next few months!  Enjoy the fabulous ride!

My tummy will happily accept steak as long as it is medium rare.  If it gets dry it is a no go.  Steak is so dense it doesn't take very much to get full but it stays with me for a long while. .I can eat shrimp but find that I get full so quickly that it doesn't stick with me for very long since shrimp has so few calories.

Your pouch will be the ruler of the roost for the forseeable future.  If you don't pay attention to what it is saying you will pay- big time!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
