My surgery was on Wednesday and everything went flawlessly per Dr. B!!  My stomach is a bit sore and my big incision reminds me that I did just have surgery if I dare get ****y in my movements.  I can't believe I really did it!  I'm so excited to be on the bench with everyone.  I've steered clear of the scale because I can tell that I'm swollen but just out of curiousity, when did you guys weigh in?

Thanks!
Janeen

For me it was about 4 days after surgery, can't remember how much i had lost at that time but I do know that I lost 20 lbs. the two weeks of liquids.  Congrats on having the surgery, I am so glad I did it, it really gives me hope.  Take care and make sure you get all your liquids in.

Congratulations!!!  For me I waited until my 2 week post op appt.  I didn't want to be freaked out if I gained water weight or didn't lose much since I had just paid $10K to have my stomach ripped out!!  I was pleasantly surprised at my two week appt.

Congrats on your surgery!!  You are just a week behind me!!  I haven't weighed yet.  I am scared!!  LOL!  Everyone seems to guess it at about 15 to 20 pounds though, and I can feel it and see it for sure!!  Good luck!

Congratulations Janeen and welcome to the bench! I weighed a few days later and had gained but I knew it was due to surgery so did not freak out. I knew there was no way to drink only clear liquids and no calories and NOT lose. I do weigh everyday, but I don't fret about the ups and downs. I know they happen and I can usually tell when I have not had enough liquids by the weight so I up them and the next day usually see a difference.

Janeen,

Congratulations!  You're gonna love your sleeve before long.  That big incision is kind of a pain for several weeks, but it was really the only thing that ever bothered me much.

As for the scale - sorry to say, I sneaked down to the scale the day after surgery before I went home, adn then the first thing I did when I got home was get on my scale and then take a shower... I know, sick - huh?  I have no recollection now of what either scale said that day, but I remember getting on them...

My advice to you would be to try and wait as long as you can, but definitely weigh before you go back onto mushies... they can cause a slowdown in pound losses.

Good luck to you!

Congratulations, and welcome to the bench.   I am not a good example because I weighed every time I went to the bathroom those first two weeks, and as I am sure you know by now is quite often when you're on a liquid diet.  I had to go back after one week for an infection and had to arm wrestle the nurse to let me on their scales so I could see the loss from the day of surgery.  I think I have transferred my obsession with food to the scale, not the best thing but hey it could be worse.

I weighed every day because I'm a sicko!  I lost 11 pounds in the first 2 weeks.  And immediately stalled when I started mushies.  But that was expected.  It was actually fun to weigh because it was coming off so consistently.  I know lots of other people lost lots more than 11 in 2 weeks but I'm sort of a slow loser.  That's ok!  I'll take every pound that I can!

Congratulations and welcome to the skinny side.  Once you start mushies, you will be thrilled with your new life!  Oh, and the left side pain goes away after a  couple of weeks so hang in there!
