My liquids stage lament!!

OK, I just have to vent a little and say I am SOOOOO tired of liquids!!  Yuk!!  I am making my quota of liquids but find I can't stand the taste of water!!  I also can't stand the sticky sweetness of adding the powder to the water, so I am just outta luck!  I feel nauseous but I don't really think I am, I think I think I am because I had to force it down the first two days out when I really WAS nauseous!  So now I have a negative reminder of that, and would really prefer not to drink ANYTHING.  Now, I know that isn't possible, so I am just sucking it up and drinking.  I guess I just want reassurance that at some point fluids are appetizing again?!  I only have a few more days until mushies!  WOOT!

Hey Christi I am feeling your annoyance.  I found that I to can not stand that taste of water, I didnt do the powder that you are talking about but i have found that i can only thing that I can stand to drink is propel.  I have tried all different kinds and its the only thing i can do.  I am with you though I am ready for real FOOD!  We are almost there not much longer now....Chin up

I can't stand plain water, never could. I do use the powders, but add them to more water than they say to -- usually at least 24 ozs. It still has flavor, but not as sweet that way. I like the propel too because it is not as sweet so maybe that is why I like the powders watered down. I can't do Fuze -- way too sweet!

What about drinking broth or something like that?

Yea, I am not a huge fan of propel but I haven't tried it in a few days.  Maybe I should try it again.  I probably should try the more diluted powders.  That may be ok too.   Glad to hear I am not the only one that feels that way  LOL!  My BF had a regular lemonade the other day and I took a tiny sip and about barfed!  It tasted like I was sipping syrup!  YUK!  Anyway, the broths are okay, it's all just 'ok' and barely tolerable!!  Thanks for listening to me vent!

I loved ice chips when I was only on liquids.  Soni**** was my favorite.  I wasn't a big water drinker and really WANTED something to chew.  I know, not the best on the teeth, but it sure made me feel better.

Good luck,
Lori

I always mix the powders with way more water than they call for- up to double the amount of water sometimes.  I agree, they are too sweet mixed according to instructions.  Try warm liquids- hot teas, decaf coffee, Herb OX boullion powders are the best in my opinion.  Hang in there- life is better with mushies!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Hey girls!  I'm just over 4 months out and STILL can not stomach plain water OR anything that's very cold.  I live on Crystal Lite Peach Mango Green Tea.  I use one packet for 20oz of water and it goes down really easy for me.  Just keep trying different things.  This isn't as sweet as some of the propel and other things, so that's part of the reason I think I like it.  This will be a bad memory before you know it.  Don't get on the scale too early.  I waited until my 2 week appointment.  You hold a lot of fluid during this time.  Also, don't panic when you hit a stall right after starting mushies.  Seems like it's happened to most of us and it is THE most annoying thing that can happen at that point.  It will break.  We all promise!  Take care,
Cindy

Good Job on sucking it up. I'm proud of you. I don't hardly ever do plain water either. As long as you get at least 64 oz of approved fluids in a day, that is all that matters. Hang in there, you are almost over the worst.

Okay just had to add my two cents since you and I had surgery the same day and I AM SOOOOO SICK OF FLUID ANYTHING!!!  Water, Crystal Light, Broth, and anything that I don't have to chew.  Nothing and I repeat nothing can compare to REAL food at this point.  I have thought about what I will eat on WEdnesday...and realize that even when I do, it will be very little.  But I still will savor every single bite.  Anyway ~ I am in it with you guys till the end.  What are you guys planning as your FIRST mushie??  For me I think an egg with some shredded cheese...OMG I am drowning in my own saliva. LOL.  WE CAN MAKE IT!!!
