O/T Greatest American Dog (spoiler alert)

The bad thing about bribing is they are soon smart enough to figure out if they hold out you will up the ante....LOL.

I Loved this show too! I was so for Travis. I think he said something in the beginning about being from Perry too, but I knew he was an Okie...Not to mention he was a cutie and his dog was great!!! I loved this show and hope they put more on like it.

I wish I knew all that my dog knows. She is so trained and it is a waste not to know what she really knows....She was trained in Germany .....****son or something like that. Right now I just love on her and she minds me..That's what is important, but I would like to know her better. She also surprises me with things she does or movements or responses, all the time..... I have thought about taking her to that place that trains the police dogs to see if he could tell me what all she has been trained for. She never gets treats when she does what she is supposed to do...only when I want her to feel special.....Am I crazy or what???  She has alot of issues with separation anxiety I know that...and I think that she has been beaten in her past too, but the way she acts at times....with her being 8 it's hard to tell what has been in her past. My daughter got her at 6. Oh well, I just love her.and we are still just getting used to each other. We have really bonded now....  I'm so glad other people on here watched that show too! I wondered if I was the only one!!

Shutzhund-she probably has some attack training, as well as tracking-it's pretty intense and a lot of fun to watch.  It's (in my opinion) always best to vary food treats with praise and other treats like tugs, cuddles, etc.  I've had dogs that work only for food, and if they get full, they don't work.  Is she a shepherd, a rottie, a dobe , a giant schnauzer or something else?  (I'm being ethnic because of the germany comment). 

Yes, Travis was/is a complete little hunk.  I think a couple of the foo foo girlies were smitten with him.....that was almost too much reality for me-it detracted from the dogs (and my own lust). 

 

Yes she is a Sheppard and her cousin(my son in law's dog) is a Dobe who has gone all the way to search and rescue. His commands are in German and his parents have some big Champion Blood Line.  Most of Greyce's commands are in German but she knows both and will respond to both. Those two dogs are best friends...oh and the new kitten that they have out there...both just ignore him because both have been trained to ignore them...I'll post a pic of the two on my profile. I sure wouldn't walk up on either!

Today my Grandson tried to give Greyce a chicken nugget , he had it to her lips and all I had to say was no...She wanted that thing so bad...but she just turned her head and probably cussed me with all the German words she knows and I don't! She doesn't get people food at all...besides everyone says she is a chub!! She is about 7 lbs over and we are working on that...She is 85lbs I think it was. So we both need to walk more.

Sherrie, Greyce is a beautiful dog.  It's amazing how smart some animals are.  One thing about it they always stick with you through thick and thin and unlike humans they are always glad to see you and wag their tails!!! 

I LOVED this show - so happy that Travis won.  I think my little Bubba is the greatest american dog though.  Although one day I will be able to teach him to stop jumping on people to say hello - pay attention to me!!! 

I loved that show!!  I hope they do another one!  I was routing for that guy, not only because he was an OKIE, but because his dog was young and he was just learning to train.  He was learning a lot from the other contestants!

My next dog is going to be a beagle!!

Everyone's dogs are so cute and the most precious thing is how much they are each loved!! After losing our 3 ****ersfrom old age, and our 18yr old cat...I swore I would never have another pet and even distanced myself from family pets....Greyce has changed all that again. Pet's can change your heart....
