A long overdue hello

Hey all you fine folks~
It's Joni here and I have been gone a long time. If you all remember I was considering wls and then God decided a baby was to happen before that. So, here I am, 4 months prego with little one number two. My son is being his cute 1 1/2 year old self. I think he is getting too smart for his own good. This pregnancy has been way different than my first. I am a lot heavier this time around and feeling a little...okay a lot dumpy. Happy about the baby, but bummed about the weight. Eating pretty healthy though. Junk makes me feel sick when I'm preggo...except for icecream. Is that the case sometimes after surgery? Anyway, just wanted to say hello to everyone, see how wonderfully you all are doing, and say way to go! I've been looking at a few of you who were just getting surgery a few months ago and you look fab! So...let me know how each of you are and what you've been experiencing lately. I'll let you know when we find out what this little one is going to be. Curiosity is about to kill the cat this time around. I don't know how I waited to find out with my son. Still wanting to be sleeved sometime after this baby. I want a sleeve before the next one! Take care~J

Hi Joni!

It's great to hear from you! I'm so happy for you that your pregnancy is going well. You'll have that precious bundle in your arms before long.

Please let us know when you find out if your having a son or a daughter.

After you get settled in after this little one arrives, you can concentrate more on weight loss and getting your sleeve.

I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers,

Shelly

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Joni,
So glad you came back in.  Dan and I were talking about you at the last eat and greet, we're your ears burning? LOL  Glad to hear that things are going good with baby #2.

Congrats on the baby!  As much as I love my sleeve a baby is a much greater blessing!  You are so lucky to be getting a new bundle of joy.  You will be sleeved at some point after the new bundle has arrived.

I am 3 1/2 months post-op and down 35 pounds since day of surgery.  I am a slower than normal loser but I am OK with that (well most days any way!)
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Well, I guess I could be the one to tell you what pregnancy after WLS is like LoL... I'm on my 2nd post-op baby.  I was never able to have any before my surgery.  I'm almost ready to pop now (Oct 8th).  You still have to eat when you're pregnant post-op, but it is different.  You eat about 300 more calories a day than you do on a normal WLS diet and you incorporate complex carbs and veggies into it.  You *usually* end up losing all your baby weight (at least I did with my last one and should with this one, considering I haven't gained but 4 lbs).  It's a much healthier experience, at least I think so.  Just thought I'd tell you how it is from this perspective~ Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and with getting your sleeve done!  Take care!
