Any Suggestions for first two weeks
Ok I have talked to Chris and tried to get some ideas to help tide me over until my last week goes by but i am so hungry and out of ideas. What is everyone eating during their first two weeks, I was told I could do soups as long as there were no chunks going down and they couldnt be cream soups. I have tried sugar free popsicles dont like them, I am doing slimfast drinks and advantage drinks and i am just sick of sweet things. Ive done the broths, jello's and anything else i can think of i need some ideas
HELP ME PLEASE!

I'm pre-op, but I've read suggestions of hot tea and crystal lite. Maybe that would be enough of a change? I thought cream soups were all right, but maybe that's the mushy stage.
Good luck. I know 2 weeks sounds like forever, but you can do it.
Blessings,
Mary

Well, sweetie, you listed pretty much all you can really have! During the liquid stage, you can have basically clear liquids. And I know, the shakes, jellos, popsicles are all sweet and one gets tired of that pretty soon. You can try canned soups, such as Campbell or Progresso and strain the liquid and only drink the liquid. I did better with warm drinks during that period, and I had decaf tea a lot. Also, my husband made me home made soup and I drank that broth, rather than the instant bullion kind.
Wish you luck and think....it's almost over!!!
Girl, you just have to hang in there! I know it sucks and you don't think you will ever make it! But I promise, promise, promise you will make it and you will even look back on it and laugh. But not right now! You must protect your new tummy and that staple line so your job is to keep to the list of what you can have. I hated it too but you will make it!
There just aren't a lot of choices for the 2 week liquid stage. I got so tired of sweet things...crystal lite, jello, popsicles that I could almost hurl just thinking about them. I know where you're coming from. The warm broth, decaf tea and coffee seemed to work better for me than cold things. You'll be through with this part before you know it. I don't think that the cream soups are ever very good for us. Most of them have a "cream" base and go right on through the pouch/sleeve. I've done the egg drop soup and some did that during the 2 week liquid stage I think. I just do it prior to eating the "real" food that stays in the pouch. I just look at the soup the same as the liquid when eating. Hang in there!!!
I don't have any more suggestions than the others but hang in there because this is definitely the hardest part. It will be over before you know it. You are doing so good and I am so proud of you. I found the eggdrop soup minus the stuff was the thing that I enjoyed the most but I found I could only eat a couple of bites.
Love ya.

This is what I can say... It sucks. But I swear it really is only in your head. It takes some getting use to. You really are saying goodbye to an old and dear friend. I went through the same thing. I was swearing up and down I was hungry. Just wait until you can eat.... then you will know that you really weren't hungry.
HELP NOW YOU SAY????
1. eat ice
2. decaf instant coffee
3. try every sf dring you can afford
4. make a pot of beans and just have the juice
5. chicken noodle soup, just the soup
I was the same way. I hated the sweet crap..... I live on decaf coffee.
Drink drink drink, the more you drink the less "hungry" you feel.
Good luck, and just know that all of this IS worth it!!
