Am I going crazy or what??
Dr. Walton doesn't see patients for 6 weeks and I can't remember my loss then. But I can tell you that I lost 11 pounds in the first 2 weeks. I thought it should have been more but this is not a race and every body is different! (don't you get sick of hearing that???)
You might be bloated. They pump a lot of fluids in you in the hospital and you're still swollen! DON'T WEIGH!!! You might get disappointed and weighing this early on is no indication as to how you're going to do.
Hang in girlie! You're gonna do great!

Don't weigh-the first few weeks are roller coasters of up and down with bloating, fluids, etc and it just makes people crazy at a time when they don't need to be.
One of the ironies of laproscopic WLS is that you do feel bloated for several weeks-so after going to the trouble and expense and pain, you walk around feeling about 7 months pregnant.
My first follow up wasn't for 8 weeks, and I lost 22 pounds but I have no idea how much was while I was still on liquids, etc...it was probably a lot faster at first but I don't know for sure, and I'm kind of glad. The early speedy loss would have set me up for disappointment later.
Your body gets so many IV fluids and drugs with anesthesia ... and then pain medication freshly post-op that it will take your body some time to figure out what has happened and what to do.
Try to be patient and follow the instructions and program and it is guaranteed your weight will drop. Concentrate on enjoying the process of becoming a new and healthier you!
Go ahead and whine! We all know the feeling...the first 2 weeks after surgery you just want to chew..I did th ulitmate I would chew on jerky and spit it out when I got all the flavor out...
As for the weighing yourself.....WOMAN THROW THE SCALES AWAY!!!! They are your most evil enemy.. I am 9 months post op and I weigh maybe once a month. My way of knowing I am losing is simple when my pants are baggy and falling down I know I am losing..when my bra sags past my "girls" then I know I am still losing. THe scale can say that you have lost 5 pounds today and then tomorrow you get on them and you have gained back the 5 plus three so dont use the scale for awhile let your body show the fat melting by your clothes.
Dr. Keith saw me 2 weeks after surgery....all surgeons are different..
GOOD LUCK TO YA!!!!
