BCBSOK

I live in Texas and my wife works for Braums. We are getting medical ins with BCBSOK. Has anyone had luck with them covering gastric bypass surgery with Braums medical plan?

James, I'm sorry I don't have answers for you.  You should look through your insurance information and call them if you need to.  Every insurance is different and even with BCBS they have different plans within.  My insurance excluded anthing to do with weight loss surgery and I was a self-pay.  I would also get with your insurance coordinator at Braums and ask questions.  Sorry I'm not much help!!  Good luck.

Have you tried www.bcbsok.com to see what it says?  I have BluLincs which is part of Blue Cross but its not exactly the same.

I have looked at the BCBS website. It doesnt have the answer to my question. Not to be rude, but my question is, does anyone know of someone that works for Baums that is covered by their BCBSOK medical plan that has had the Gastric Bypass surgery covered by the plan? Not wanting to hear BS from the insurance company, just a real person who has used Braums BCBROK plan to cover their surgery. My wife is getting ready to sign up for the insurance, if it doesnt cover the surgery, we are not going to sign me up for their insurance. Thanks

Jemes, I believe it will depend on if the employer chooses to have the WLS option covered, or not. Employers can choose the level of coverage for their employee plan from different options and it's up to them, generally, to choose to buy the WLS coverage option. It will probably depend on Braum's choices for employee coverage. You might want to call the human resources/benefits dept. of Braum's and inquire for accurate infomation.
