I am 3 days shy of 4 months post-op.  The hardest part at this point is getting the vitamins in and doing my exercise.  None of it is "hard".  I just forget the vitamins and the exercise....well, guess I'm still a little lazy but working on it!

Question:  Is there anything about the whole WLS process that you would change or do differently and if so; what?

If there were some way to start a fund for those with no insurance and questionable credit, I would want to do that.  My heart breaks when I read of people who can find no way to get something that has changed my life so dramatically.

What has been the biggest WOW moment for you on your journey?

My biggest WOW moment is how fast my pants sizes have changed.  It was immediate and still amazes me!

I still find myself dealing with lazy brain.  I always enjoy the exercise once I get my butt up and moving.  It is easier to be motivated now than before simply because my body is working better.  I do water aerobics 2 days a week, walk with my lovely walking buddies one day a week, and do my own yard work another day of the week.  I guess when the yard goes dormant I will have to go back to the gym and do some weights and cardio.

Question:  What has been the biggest surprise to you on this journey?  It can be a good surprise or a bad one but I hope it is good.  (For me it was weighing what I did when I started college 32 years ago! I never believed it was possible.)
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

The biggest surprise was how deeply I relied on food emotionally.  I truly had no idea.  It was at first a bad surprise, but I dealt with it and moved on.

Question: Do you ever miss taking a BIG bite of something?

yes, I am often very angry with myself because I want to eat more and I physically can't. I have not yet barfed up anything so maybe I should just take that big ole bite and barf so I will appreciate the little bites that I can take.

Question: What has been the biggest change in your personal relationships, good or bad?

Most for the good as far as not meeting a stranger and being more active and not too shy to strike up a conversation....  My husband is a bit insecure now, he is overweight and no matter what I say or do now he thinks that his weight will be an issue for me. SO it is a constant struggle now to convience him I love him for who he is and being so supportive to me.  With the help of the Lord we will get through this though.

Next Question..... if you are post, Was you a middle of the night snacker?  And are you now? If you are a pre-op, do you find yourself getting up at night to snack?
