One step closer, and feeling nervous....

Talked to our mortage company today.. No problem on getting approved for a Equity Line of credit to use on "Self Pay".   I am going to the seminar tomorrow night in Edmond and very excited and nervous.  Now that I know this can be possible since I have the funds to do so, my tummy is doing summer saults, butterflies, jitterness, you name it and I am doing it..

Hubby is being more self reserved, and wants me to listen to the seminar tomorrow to make a exact decision.  Which, I am being open minded but also telling myself I want to do this so much right now.

So can anyone tell me what to expect from the seminar and where you go from there?  When did you decide to get the ball rolling?  Did you go in for a first inital visit?

Thanks for any insight that you can share..

HI!  Sorry I couldn't talk long!  Kids...Anyway they are down now for a few mins!  It was good to hear from you.  I am going through the same thing.  I think its normal.  I am going to a support group meeting tonight in Owasso with a friend who had WLS in January.  She is so helpful and supportive.  I decided that I should get started now.  Besides the ones that have been through it will be as informative as the seminar...in some ways.  I am looking forward to the seminar tomorrow night as well.  I will be anxious to see what you decide!  Me 2!!!  I keep hearing such positive things, but there is that fear still in the back of my mind.  I'm pushing it way back there.  There isn't much there anyway so its lonely!  LOL! I'm crzy today!

Hi there,

I completely understand not being able to talk when you have little ones around.  That is my story 24/7.  My girlfriend that I was talking too earlier today invited me to the support meeting at Bailey's this evening too.. But I don't have a sitter for this evening, so unfortantly I can't go.   That will be a GREAT support meeting to have nearby and we have heard nothing but wonderful things come out of there.

I am going to use my drive time tomorrow for self reflecting and really think about what has been said.  It will be so nice to have 2+ hours one way in the car all by myself.  I never get a break with the twins. And not having them yell at one other or the TV blaring.. It will be so nice to sit in quietness, I am really looking forward to it too.

Have a safe drive tomorrow.

Hugs,
Sheila

I understand about wanting alone time!  I...On the other hand don't want to drive that far so late at night alone!  I think my BFF from high school is going to take off of work and go with me!  She's so supportive.  We will see!

Maybe we can ride together to the meetings in Owasso sometimes!  I plan on going regularly!  Maybe it will help with the brain thing!  I have read on some of the posts that people are going through behavior modification therapy.  I want to find that.  I went to one counselor through Family and children services a few years ago... WON'T be going back to her!  Anyway If you have any suggestions e-mail me  pleeze!!!
Its time for me to get off the computer! Kiddos are getting up!
If I don't talk to before, be safe on your trip to Edmond!
Hugs

There is a drop in childcare center in Owasso just up the road from Bailey. Its called Kids Clubhouse. I took my daughter there for daycare until she started school a few weeks ago. I LOVE them so much. They treated my daughter like family and the prices are reasonable. You might think about it so you can go to the support meeting tonight.

I assume I have already missed the meeting?  I assume it started at 6 PM?  Not for sure though. But now hubby is awake and doesn't have to go in until 10 PM, but I am sure I missed it already.. what a bummer...  Thanks for the tip on the Owasso day care though, will remember it for next time.

 Hi, Mrs P,
The first seminar, not support meeting, I learned about the different types of surgery: the sleeve, the gastric bypass, and banding (Lapband) and what's involved in each surgery.  A doctor was available at both presentations to explain what each entailed and the pros/cons of each.  The first meeting I was at turned into a money meeting rather than an explanation of what the surgery was.  That's why I went to 2 seminars.  I think the seminar lasted about 1 1/2 or 2 hours.  I actually learned what was involved by using the ObesityHelp Oklahoma forum.  Be sure you understand that no matter what surgery you have, it's only a tool.  You still have to do the work.  Good luck at the seminar tomorrow night.

THE SEMINAR IS VERY HELPFUL AND HELPED ME MAKE THE DECISION TO HAVE THE SLEEVE. THEY MADE ME AN INTIAL APPOINTMENT THAT DAY FOR LATER ON IN THE WEEK. YOU CAN ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU WANT AND THE DR WILL HAVE AN ANSWER FOR YOU. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THE FUNDS AVAILABLE YOU HAVE WON HALF THE BATTLE!! GOOD LUCK IN YOUR DECISION.

Thanks everyone for chiming in... I will be leaving in a bit for the seminar this evening..  I have dinner planned for hubby and the kids, they are making home made pizza's.. Hopefully, my kitchen will not be a disaster when I get home.. And I made a desert.  PJ's laid out, beds turned down, thing I have done all I can do.

Thanks again for the GREAT advice..
