OMG - Major NSV!!!

Okay, well maybe it's not major - but it sure feels major to me!  I am at 19 1/2 weeks out from surgery and I am 12.5 lbs away from goal (which I hope I make it to - but may have to set a lower goal to get to what I want to look like).  Anyway, I went shopping today to find a denim skirt for the SouthWest Showdown (DH is a football coach - that's why).  So, I grab a size 10 and IT"S TOO FRICKIN BIG!!!  Woo hoo, bought an 8; thought it was a fluke because I think Old Navy's sizes run bigger but still VERY happy.  Then I went to American Eagle Outfitters, found a pair of cute shorts in a 10, tried them on, TOO BIG!!!  Bought the size 8.  Maybe not a fluke?  Anyway, SO SO SO happy.  I went from a TIGHT size 16 at the beginning of surgery and in just under 5 months, I am 1/2 that size.  Thanks for listening to me ramble - I was pretty darn happy!!!

Good for you!  That is so exciting!  I can't even imagine what it feels like to wear a single digit size.

What does Dr. B say about a goal weight?  No one at Weight Wise has even mentioned setting a goal weight for me.  Did you pick your own goal?
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Thanks!  It does feel good.  I did pick my own goal, but Dr. B and Dr. Keller wanted to make sure that it was realistic.  I asked Dr. B at the beginning if I would be able to reach goal and he made sure not to commit one way or another.  He said it depends on a lot of factors, but that 140 was reasonable if I was militant.  So???  Not really sure about the goal picking; I would have preferred someone to pick it for me!

Dr Walton never asked me about a goal weight, but both Jess and Dr Keller did and said my goal was realistic. It is higher than my lowest weight when I first got married, but that was 27 years ago and I wanted it to be something I knew I could maintain.

Thanks, Amy.  I'm pretty pumped.  And I tend to agree with you (or at least I want to agree!) no fluke!!!

Thanks!  That would be AWESOME - I haven't been a 6 since JUNIOR HIGH!  I would LOVE it - but I'm going to be realistic.  An 8 is fine - if I don't lose anything else, this is 10 gazillion times better than before.  But if I do - world watch out!  ha!
