I was hot flash free for 20+ years (total hysterectomy****il 2 weeks post-op.  The initial thought was that it was the weght loss and the released estrogen was making my estrogen levels too high.  Well, not true it turns out.  I was WAY low in all hormone levels.  There seems to be no real explanation about why I suddenly started having hot flashes.  Anyway, the buggers haven't gone away yet.  Still working on it.  Today was not a good hot flash day. =(

Let us know what you find out.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I called Matt (RD) at Dr. Nelson's office today. Matt had spoken with her about my situation and then told me they were uncertain of what exactly was happening. I'm not getting sick and things go through fine, so I don't feel I have any need for any testing ... other than maybe going for a check for hormones with the other sort of doctor. I'll keep in touch with them and go in if this continues.

Strangely enough, the hot flashing hasn't happened after eating today. And, I ate more breakfast than usual. Go figure. I"m hoping this is a temporary fluke and is going away permanently.

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Is dairy ever involved?  That's the only other thing I can think of....but that wouldn't explain the almonds....ok, never mind.
