Amy, Ulta has a three pack with the Nioxin line inside.  It is $19.99.  Make sure you read the package and get the right formula for your hair- color treated, fine, and so on.

I have been taking 5000mcg of Biotin since about a month pre-op and started using the Nioxin about a month ago.  I have no idea if it is going to work but I had to do something.  At this point (3 1/2 months out) I have noticed a little more hair on my brush but nothing alarming.

I chose to grow my hair a little longer than normal since I usually wore it very short.  I wanted to make sure I had hair to cover and balding or thin spots.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Thats right!  I remember now you saying you found it at Ulta.  I will check it out.  It also sounds like I need to increase the Biotin.

Tell me about it!  I think that if this keeps up, I'm going to have to get extensions!!!  Anyway, I'm still losing like crazy and I have been doing biotin and nioxin since before surgery.  WAAAHHH!!  Okay, pity party over, at least no one can tell yet...

I'm sorry you've started the hair loss problem too.  I have been for about 2 months now.  I do think it has slowed down some...not much left anyway!! (LOL)  I have really been fighting it.  It not only has been falling out but what is left is so different in texture.  It's dry and straight as a string.  I have to work at it to get anything done with it.  I keep my hair really short and always have .  I would think that a little shorter and layered might give you the appearance of more hair...who knows.  Good luck.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Hi!  I tried to find a blog I read earlier and the person said they took something called silica?  (Spell)  I'm not sure if I said it right.  I looked for her page, but I have read so many of these they run together.  She said it really helped ease her hair loss.  Might be worth researching!
Lots of Luck!

Yeah, I have heard of that now that you mention it.  Some of the ones on the main VSG board use it.
