I read the post about medic ID bracelets and necklaces, I have never heard anything about this until now.  Do WLS patients need a medic ID?

I choose to wear one since I live alone and usually am alone in the car.  I really don't want to risk some enthusiastic EMT or ER doc ramming an NG tube in without being guided by a fluroscope.  This a personal decision.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I think she hit it on the head, its a personal preference.  But yes no NG tube and no NSAIDs are two things I want all EMT and ER techs to know IF anything was to happen to me.  Plus the bracelets are stylish and since I cannot wear necklaces as a nurse I want to wear the bracelet then.

Happycat what did you have put on yours since you had a VSG, do you have the same thing put on it as someone who had an RNY?

I do wear one as well,.... and it was preference for me. I bought it before asking what I should put on mine and I got one on the higher end for price so that it looks nice with everything i wear. I need to have it redone though. Make sure you know what you need it to say forsure before ordering yours.
