Weird Non Scale Victory!
Not sure if everyone can identify with this or not. When I go into a restaurant I feel my blood pressure go up. First of all there is the panic that I not be seated in a booth because I won't fit or if I do I will be extremely uncomfortable.
Second, if the floor is slick I have to walk all tense and careful like because I am afraid I will fall and end up with everyone staring at my big butt. Oh and walking through a crowded restaurant trying to fit my fat butt in between chairs is a challenge too.
The last thing that I would do is carefully choose my seat at the table. It is tricky because you have to choose the chair that is least likely to put yourself in everyone's way. Because I'm so big I would end up in the waiter's path or end up crowding the table next to me.
Well.....when Camille was here last earlier we ate at PF Changs. When I sat down it dawned on me that my blood pressure never went up. I just walked in and sat down. Simple as that without even thinking about anything! And the wonton soup was awesome...I basically picked out the four delish shrimp out of it and it was so very good.

Ok you are so making me miss PF Changs LoL. I used to live right down the street from it when I was in OKC (I lived off Penn and Memorial). To me, it doesn't seem weird that you would mention that as an NSV because I can identify with that. I was almost 300 lbs prior to my WLS and I would go into panic mode at restaurants as well. Now, it's a relaxing situation for me... glad it is for you, as well.

Amy, what you describe is exactly how I felt going to a restaurant. I would remember the places that had chairs with armrests and I would avoid those places! We would always ask for a table, so as to not be embarrassed by not fitting in a booth! Now, I love to go and seat in booths....I always hope we get a booth when we go to restaurants - sort of my personal little victory!
Amy - it breaks my heart to read your post and how you felt but only increases my admiration for you. I am so proud of you for taking such positive steps in your life. Congratulations baby! You are now in control! Feels good, don't it?
So happy that in this whole crazy world I met you and call you friend!
