HOOORRRRAAAAAYYYYY Its FRIDAY!!!!!!

So here is the Question today....

POST OPER'S  ~ Since surgery what, besides size, has changed the most about you?

PRE OPER'S ~ What is the one thing, besides size, that you hope to change about yourself?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For me it would be my confidence!!!! I have always been a go getter before but now I KNOW that what ever it is I am tackleing its MINE and I will get it done. I have confidence in my apperance, my job, just in everything that I do.
I would have to say it is my self confidence and my self esteem , I just feel better about myself . I feel more comfortable with who I am ....it is amazing how much you learn about yourself during this journey .  I hadnt realized how much I "hid", and avoided life in general.
I would say that since surgery and loosing 136 pounds it is feeling like a new person.  Giving up insulin, almost ready to give up the CPAP machine and have had it turned down a LOT.  I have so much more energy now.  I walked the entire outlet mall in Roundrock, TX this past weekend  with my daughter and we only had an hour and by the way I didn't buy one thing, had energy to spare and could keep up with her.   Normally I would have looked at the board and checked out if there were any "large size" women's stores and maybe gone to it and would sit and wait on her to go where she wanted to go and then go on because I didn't have enough energy.  I don't have the need to park right in front of stores anymore.  I don't feel like people are looking at me and judging me as much and I'm going to a football game this weekend when I've been avoiding them for a while because of climbing bleachers!  They were a nightmare.  I love life so much better in general.
This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!
Pre Oper here ~ I am already outgoing and can chat to anyone and everyone for hours on end.  But I want more self confindence.  Not having to walk away from a roller coaster at Celebration City in Branson because I don't fit.  I don't want my 3 year old twins, to have to say Mommy are you tired today?  I want to be able to run and play soccer and go for hours on end.. And don't poop out before them anymore.. I want the most and want to give the most of myself, without my weight hendering me any more.  Did any of that make sense? Hope it did anyway..
My biggest change is also self confidence.  As a result, I'm not hiding in my house but getting out and doing things!  I'm walking my dogs in my neighborhood, shopping with my sister (the marathon shopper) and her daughters, going on trips, and this past weekend actually got into a jacuzzi for the first time!  I really enjoyed that.
I'm pre-op, and the biggest change I hope to see is in my physical/health issues. I cannot wait to be able to take a walk around the block! I want to be active again, instead of dealing with so much pain. I know that's not a guarantee, with WLS, but I believe it will happen.
Blessings,
Mary
Pre-op here- I can't wait to shop in "normal" sizes at the mall. I just hate how alot of stores think that just becuase you need a 24 around that you also need a 32 inseam! Not all overweight people are tall!! c'mon now! I also can't wait to paint my own toenails and go through a whole day with out back pain!
Pre-Op and The thing I most would like to change other than size is the amount of meds I take.. so many make me tired, even more so than just being overweight. I also want to be a good example for my kids on eating right.. This week I am making a menu and sticking to it. I am getting a scale and weighing our food... and cutting back on eating out! Making weight loss goal.. my goal this week.. is to be able to not get an error on the scales when I step on them.. it weighs to 400 and I am guessing I am about 420 or more now.. I am also going to start going to the gym!!!
I'm a post-op and, besides my size, the thing that has changed the most is definitely my confidence and self esteem.  I have so much more pride in myself now and I hold my head high.  I am proud of who I am, inside and out!  Well, and the shopping doesn't hurt anything either LoL~  Going from wearing anywhere from a 24 to a 28 to going to wearing anywhere from a 2 to a 6 does great things for one's confidence as well... makes going to the stores a lot more enjoyable!
Post-op here-  The biggest change and a surprise at that is that I am no longer content to remain single anymore.  I am not content to be alone any longer.  I divorced 23 years ago and was content until a few months ago.  Haven't figured out how to solve the problem though.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
