I wanted to assure anyone who has a lapband or is considering lapband, that you can survive a horrible stomach flu , for 10 months it has been my biggest fear , somehow i thought the sucker would pop , break or something horrible .  I have been quite ill and came through with all the fluid in my band intact ! so i feel very lucky .  Now i can finally get some sleep. Have a good day everyone.

It isn't fun, but actually not really any worse than pre band stomach virus....sorry you had to find out though.  When the surgery is new and healing, the band really needs some babying, but once it's healed and seated, it's pretty solid.  I really believe most band problems come from keeping too tight a fill for your eating skills.

I'm so glad you're feeling better now and that experience is behind you. Get some rest and drink your fluids.

I'm sorry you've been feeling so poorly, Luanne, but I'm glad your lap band stood the trial. My middle name is Lou Ann, so it's fun for me to see another person with a similar name. Take care, and get some rest.
Blessings,
Mary

I need to knock on some wood as I say this....but I haven't been sick since I had the surgery....no viruses what so ever in 8 months!  It has been my greatest fear also.  I can drink almost like a normal person now so I think I would survive.  If I had gotten sick the first 3 months when I could only sip....I don't even want to think about it!!!  I am so glad you survived and are feeling better.....I'm off to knock on some more wood!  lol
